I'm new to the DSM world and i just purchased a 95 TSi off of my friend for 3500... good deal! But anyways, another friend has a 91 Tsi and he is offering me 300 for his 16g turbo... i rode in his car like 2 days ago and it ran just fine. He said it was ported and i was wondering if it would bolt up. My tsi has a walbro 255 fuel pump in it. I figure i need to get injectors and hopefully thats it. any sugestions on what injectors to get? Anyone that can help let me know.
Thanks,
Woody

You need SAFC(at least), MBC, 2g install kit, i would get bigger injectors(550cc min.), upgrade you BOV to at least a 1g. Other than that you should be good to go. All of that will run run around $900-1000. but in terms of the turbo bolting up it will to the manifold but you need the install kit in order to connect it to the stock side mount.

youre gonna need the 2g install kit, it comes with oil return tube, oil feed lines, and the j-pipe. unless you get that stuff with his 16g. the oil fittings and return tube from the stock t25 dont fit with the 16g, thus the need for the 2g install kit.

other than that it bolts directly to the manifold. you might want to port match your manifold to match the 16g so you can take advantage of the 16g porting. otherwise the air is just going from a small hole into a big hole, and wont make much of a difference.

how much is a 2gen install kit? just curious? so it doesnt sounds like injectors are too important?

install kit cost between 150-200 depending on who who get it from. the 200 dollar install kits come wtih full lower hard piping. You don't need to get any of that stuff i recomemded but if you want to get the most out of that turbo you should, especially get at least a 1g bov because the stock plastic POS can't hold boost for sh*t.

ahah, thanks man.... i was looking at those greddy bov type rs... i can get my hands on one for 150 on ebay.. think i should just go with thaT?

If it is just the BOV it won't come with the adapter that you will need to put it on the stock I/C piping. But if it says that it is specifically for a 95-99 dsm then i say get it. Also with that BOV you will be venting the compressed air to the atmosphere and that may cause stalling issue's. If you can live with that then i say go for it but if you don't want to deal with that then get the type s. Thats what i have and it works great. Also I will be putting on a front mount in about a week or two and if you want I will sell you my greddy I/C piping for a good price if you want. let me know.
