Got back to the dyno finally and adjusted for the Safc. For those that think it may help you, you are correct BUT it will obviously not help a lot. I gained 3 whp and about .5 ft-pounds torque over my previous. It's something, yes, but not worth the cost of an Safc (though mine I took off my AWD that went dsmlink. So I didn't have to buy one).

I'm happy enough that my numbers went up. I probably could have made 170 if I worked on it for a bit more but I really didn't want to spend the time and money just to pull 1/2 more horse.

Hoping to get to the track this week and lower that time :sneaky:

Congratulations on the new whp/tq numbers, Mark.

You're experimentation with the S-AFC for the N/A 420A will prove invaluable for others.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate the kind words.

And yes, one of my reasons for spending the $100 bucks to tune the safc was so others could see that there is very little gain from it. I have seen lots of comments on how it will help very little (which to many may seem like common sense). I hope that this can help illustrate that fact.

I know you didn't see sig bigger ponies from the safc but what about the range in which the ponies were built. did you see a better more efficient or "torquier" (for the lack of a better word) curve in the power? I've always been a big believer in not how much horse power is there, but where it's at.

I've got one word for you Mark:

Respect.

Keep it going since I love to see the N/A guys pushing the envelope.

Yeah, I've never really been a dyno queen. Much more interested in how my changes/adjustments affect the power/torque curves (as well as peaks). Good question on the smoothness of the curves. If I had more time (read as money for dyno time) there were a couple of bumps that I would have liked to smooth out. One specifically just after peak horsepower.
But I don't own the dyno and they aren't going to sponser me ;) so I just got her reasonably close. Because my changes were so small, there really is not any noticeable difference in the curves themselves. But definitely good point.

Andy, I appreciate the compliment. Having read your level-headed, informed responses to others I take that comment to heart.

Now to break 13's :sneaky: (Yeah, right)

Aww... you can do it. Just slap some 12.5 CR JEs in there, and get started on installing MSnS. You might want to do a little saving first, so you can afford that $7.00/gallon gas you'll be needing. :thumb:

LOL! Heh, heh..... around here that's $7.99/gallon for 112 octane.

I'm sorry chris, if you were my son I would have to kill you for wanting to turbo your NA :p (J/K). Yeah, my kid got a bit of a deal on it (4k plus 2k in payment plan) but now we can play at the track together (If I can get him there).

And thanks Slow. I'm hoping to up those a bit (No, not with turbo) over the winter. Eh, we'll see.
