1500k rev and dies

Well I finihsed my 6 bolt swap and the idle it perfect and sounds very healthy with 15 pounds of vac. But when I rev it to about 1500k it cuts down back to idle and if I do not give it gas it will die. But I can save it and then it idles fine. Up to 1500 is hold fine and it will rev past 1500k but I need to apply more gas.

I am going through every hose I can think of and I am aboutt o do a boost leak test. Any ideas?

I hope your not revving to 1500k but instead to 1500 or 1.5k, now after picking on you a bit I'm going to say its a boost/vacuum leak do a boost leak test and you'll find it, also check your base timing.

yeah 1.5k sorry it was like 4 am and I was tired and feeling meloncoly becasue it was purrin perfect but was killing at 1.5k

I was just poking a little fun at you, did you do your boost leak test yet? Thats what matters not the little mistakes we all make sometimes.

Yup just did it when I got off work, would hold 10psi then I found the leak at the pcv valve on the back of the valve cover. Fixed it and brought it to 18 psi and the tester came off make a big pop. So I am fixing it right now and aiming for 22psi. Then I will start it back up and cross my fingers.

If it held 18psi then you're fine for checking if your car runs...you only need to check at higher than 18psi if you are running more than 18psi and even then, if it doesn't leak at 12 its probably fine.

Alternator took a crap so I ought one and will be here tomorrow. Should take care of the dieing.
