i know this has been addressed in the passed, but when i searched i didnt get a satisfactory answer.

My friend just wrecked his 91 GSX a couple days ago. He is selling all his parts and I'm wondering if I should get his 14b. I'm not sure how much hes selling it for yet, I was just wondering if this would be wise.

What would need to be done for this 14b to be hooked up to my 97 GST??? (fuel wise...manifold-wise...etc)

Thanks alot

Oh, and also, will I see a considerable difference from my t25?

If you get a 14B it will bolt right up to you exhaust mani, the only thing you will need is a J-pipe so you can connect you lower intercooler piping.

I believe you need more than just a j-pipe to put a 14p on a 2g. I think you also need a 1g oil return line and a few other things. I would read the links provided. 14b>t25

I would highly suggest a SS Oil line, and a new Oil return line. Those are the main things. You can just bent the water lines a bit. Maybe a 7cm exhaust mani gasket.

See now when i see all these new oil lines and bent water pipes it scares me...I've never actually worked on my cars engine in great detail (i would love to but im only 17 and dont know much)

Will doing all that mean its alot harder to do than i think?

btw guys, thanks for all ur input

i just started my 16g install about 3 days ago and trust me, its not THAT hard. and yes, this is my first major project too on the car. follow the VFAQ instructions and you'll be fine [ VFAQ>TURBO>2g install ] it's not hard just be slow and careful. and remember to PB blast or liquid wrench the bolts in your engine 2-3 days in advance, this makes taking bolts out THAT much easier :thumb: and trust me.. do it yourself, its not worth paying someone 200 bucks to do it

oh and if the 14b is not ported then you only need a 6cm gasket. i also strongly suggest new SS line, 1g j pipe or any vendor J pipe,. everything else you can reuse.. just remember to grind down the flange of the oil return line [you'll know what i'm talking about when you get there , i used a dremel and a good bit.. took all of 5 minutes ]

Don't worry too much about it. I was scared doing my first install. But if you just remember where everything goes(which isn't much) then you will be fine. The new oil lines will ONLY fit in one place so you will know where they go. and you don't have to bend the water lines that much at all.

As far as you not knowing much, that's EXACTLY what this site is for. and doing it is the best way to learn. If you run into any stumps we have people here that will be able to help. So no need to be shook up about it. Just do it.
