Ok i just bought this 95 talon tsi with a six bolt swap. I have a 14b turbo with greddy fmic greddy bov greddy/trust catback. I was wondering how much psi i can run with this setup and how much hp i should expect. Also how much of an upgrade is a 14b turbo from the stock and what would be a good turbo to replace it with in the future or what would be some good future mods. :talon:

Well you came to the right place.

first of fellow DSMer, you should try reading the tech guide, it gives you step by step ways to mod your vehicle, but I'll try to simplify this by answering your question:

A mitsibishi 14b turbo is a great bang for the buck upgrade compared to the stock t25 garret turbo that your car came stock with from the factory.

With this setup that you have you may want to look up for some fuel mods such as upgraded fuel pump, and maybe even a dattalogger, that way you will not starve the motor at higher boost levels and also be able to monitor whats going on.

You can safely run 15 PSI with no problems, but with upgraded fuel pump and injectors you could easily hit 20 psi on a tuned setup.

A E316G (Evo III 16g) turbo will be your quick next upgrade, unless you want crazy power you may want to start looking at bigger/hybrid turbos such as 50 trim, AGP, SBR60 etc etc etc, but the bigger you go with the turbo the more tunning and supporting mods you'll need. again the 16g turbo is the best upgrade if you want to stay very Streetable, Fast, and requieres very few supporting mods. Not that bigger turbos are not streetable is just that requieres more knowledge to make them work good, you see there's more than just upgrading turbos, you gotta worry about clutch, fuel, tuning, exhaust parts (exhaust manifold, o2 housing, bigger exhaust) maybe a bigger BOV, and along the way you'll experience creep, boost leaks, break a few parts etc etc And with all due respect and no ofense but judging by your question you still have alot of reading to do.

hope that helps, and if anything else we can do for ya, let us know.!

also, though, with a 255 you will probably need to get a fuel pressure regulator... as

You see it all depends on your goals,

Im currently running a 190lph walbro fuel pump and stock injectors (450cc) on a ported 14b, it works great for me, now adding 550cc injectors will be good, and it give you a nice reliable setup even for a 16g turbo. but if you decide to go bigger than that then you'll need more fuel and bigger injectors. Like I said its all about how big you plan to go.

If your goal is a ~320 whp:
A Evo III 16g, 190 fuel pump and 550 and some kind of tuning will take you there.

But anything greater than that you may just save up and get bigger injectors (650's~780's) a 255 LPH (Litters Per Hour) walbro fuel pump, Fuel pressure regulator, AFC. just so you dont make the same expense twice.

Hope that helps.

I ran a ported 14b with stock injectors and 255 lph fuel pump. I ran 20 psi at the track no problems. Key thing is you need an afc or your going to hit fuel cut if you run that much boost.

Very sound advice, however it is mostly car dependant. A lot of people have gotten away with a 255 on the stock regulator without any DRIVABILITY issues. Your gas mileage will suffer, but it can be done. Some cars might not be able to handle it though.

He is a 2g with a 6 bolt SWAP. That means the turbo he originally had was a t-25. He put a 1g 6 bolt into his 2g, and upgraded the turbo at the same time. In this case the 14b is still better than the t-25. BTW not all 1g motors are 6 bolts, only up to 92.5 past that they are 7 bolts.
