Well I made it to the track and had a good 1st go at it... The first run I ran a 36.7 quarter with a trap of 23 mph....ha ha my TPS popped the pin and came unplugged...

Well the only other run I got in was..

1/4 Mile: 12.591 @ 112.520
1/8 Mile: 8.212 @ 89.30
60' Time: 1.900
Turbo Used: BB 50 trim
Type of Fuel: Pump gas
Tires Used: Street Radials
Race Weight: 3200
Track: Pittsburgh Raceway

with a decreased 60ft time (launched to high and spun) and without a passanger tuning as we go.. It still seems a little hopeless to wish for 11's on pump... I'm going to the dyno this weekend to squeak some more out of her and try again... what do you guys think?

I ran the time in my Sig with basically the same mods but no DSMLink only an S-AFC on pump gas so its definitely doable.

Where was the boost at? it Took me 24psi.

Hot lapping to break into 11's is what you need, right tyler? ROFL

That's exactly what I ran on my 2nd out of 3 passes. I ran 1.9 60, 12.55@113. When I got my stutterbox to cooperate with me (5500 rpm slip) I gained a nice 1.70 60 and dropped down to 12.0@115.

She's got it in her, just keep driving :rocks:

p.s., my first run my TPS failed on me too. I ran a 13.2 @ 104 LOL

it's possible, but you're gonna have to drive it hard.

my 1/8th time is 7.7 for a 12.1 quarter mile... 1.70 60 footer... so you need to be quicker in the 1/8th alone, but i don't know if that's enough trap for 11's. I'm shooting for 11's on pump next time i'm out.

Your mph is there and now all you need is the driver mod.

yeah I know...I need to ditch the k-mart quality one I have now...LOL

On a Big turbo 112mph is not going to get you into the 11's.

Your going to need more than 20psi to do it...

I think the BB makes up for it being a big turbo a bit.. I build alot of boost off the line and in between shifts using the no-lift-to-shift she never looks back...
I'll see how much I can squeak out of her on the dyno this sunday...

I'm too scared to use NLTS :coy:

I can't see 112mph making an 11 second pass unless you're a slicked out RWD cutting 1.60's out of the hole.

Dont be, I tried it at I think 5k and the shift was alot smoother. 1-2 shift is hard though. I havent hit a 1-2 shift with the 60-1 at 8k the 4 times I have tried it. But the rest of the gears it was smoother. Less jerky.

Just find the sweet shift rpm. It feels alot like an automatic shift done right.

Sounds right on par with my car. A couple things to try would be to spray the intercooler down with a mist of water to promote evaporative cooling, set the stutter box at 5500, go on the coolest night possible and try to squeak out another 2 pounds of boost. My car ran 12.07 with a 1.78 60' on 20 psi. When I bumped it up to 23-24, it ran an 11.76 with the SAFC in it. This past weekend I finally got DSMLink hooked up and set the global for the injectors and the stutterbox to 5500 and was pulling consistant 1.70 60' times and running 12.20s at 112 in the crappy air.

That's what I mean. That's a good formula, but how many AWD DSM's have you seen cut low 1.6's that didn't make over 400 awhp? and by that time, you're trapping over 118+ anyway,

Cutting mid to low 1.6's on street tires is easy :D

I found 5250 is where it's at for me at least on street tires for a good launch.

When I was at 12.1 @ 115 I was cutting 1.61's, 1.62's

26 psi seems to be the magic psi though. Went 11.7 @ almost 120 on this lil 16g. Don't be afraid to turn it up, just tune for it:thumb:

I haven't run my car on pump gas for a while, but before I changed a few things I was able to get a 12.3 @ 111 on pump gas. Don't be afraid to run low timing, high boost and low timing can yield a good result.

Ah! I did it last night...I know it's been like a month for this thread but I did it....
I let some air out of my narrow 215 50 R17 tires 22psi...
Launched at 6,000 rpms
and ran a 11.92! @24psi on Pump!
I was so stoked...
I pulled a 1.6 60 foot and traped at 115.9

I'll scan my slip when I get a chance.. and post a link to the video...:thumb:

F** yeah man. nice job. almost a full weight car running 11s is kick ass.
what size of injectors were you using?

Yup, include me in that list! I am hating too! I have been to the track in a month, perhaps next time I'll hit 11's. I am pretty certain I will.
Ok for you guys/gals running 11's are you on stock block and pushing "mid" 20psi?

Um yeah...about those injectors...100% duty cycle on denso 660's, I need new ones asap but F it they are ok for right now.
I have a built bottom end but a fresh stock head..
I do run a product called aces wich is a knock retardant kinda like methonal. It's not quite as effective as methonal but you only have to add it to you're gas at the pump everytime you fill up. The military has been using it for years. My friend Mario runs it with Methonal and can run some crazy timing. we cracked his motor after a year of using it and the pistons were clean because it's other benifit is it removes carbon build up.
