Is that a foil dryer duct intake? It's hard to tell from the pictures, so I'm concerned that it might not be sturdy enough. I know it's a wide open intake, but there will still be a good ammount of suction at WOT. It's just a temporary mockup for a hard pipe, right?

Nope. It's rock solid galvanized ducting covered in heat wrap. Don't worry about it standing up, I'm pretty sure the car would fall apart around it.

Oh and even if we aren't the first to go 10's on pump gas, which I'm pretty sure we are, we will DEFINITELY be the first to go 9's on pump gas. :rocks:

WTF that is by far the cleanest job ive ever seen done, when i did my engine swap i said i was going to make the engine bay look really nice, i pressure washed it and put the new engine in and thats it LOL. your car looks amazing and performs even better, bravo :thumb:

Did you replace the stock reservoirs with others, I cant really see them in the pictures?

keep it up. Looks crazy awesome

Any details on what you did to the headlight? I have a spare passenger light i'd like to experiment with :)

I basically just gutted the entire headlight for starters. Then ran the piping exactly where I wanted it to be and marked a center hole. Then I baked the headlight and took off the lens to drill the hole. My dream was to just take a hole saw and punch right through and it be fine, but afterwards it took a hell of a lot of coaxing with the die grinder to fit right due to all the angles that you are working with on the headlight. Once I got that right, I stuck the intake through and trimmed it to fit a little bit recessed so I'd have room for the grommet. The grommet is actually a piece of "cut-to-fit" roof flashing from Lowes that happened to work perfectly, even though I spent 20 dollars just to hack it to shit and use 1/35 of it. Then I polished the headlight, painted the inside, glued on the flashing, and you're good to go. I'm not gonna lie though, it wasn't fun, and taking a die grinder to a headlight lens is a touch frightening.

About the resevoirs, ya I'm going to replace them with something. The stockers are hideous. I was actually going to try and hide them, and might still do that.

Do you have anything protecting yoru turbo from something flying threw that intake or do you really not care as the car is only your track car? I have a 4 inch inlet on my turbo and don't feel like blowing 90 bucs on a fp4" intake and this mod looks like it would actualy net colder air but this is my dd so shit flying into my 1300 dollar duall BB turbo isn't my idea of fun :notgood:

I think I might end up siliconing a piece of screen a little bit farther back in the intake, but that will be it.

Thanks I think you just gave me the idea for my new intake I had old grill sitting around thet the guy before me had covering the fmic main opening it's not gonna get cut into a 3.75" circle and placed inside the intake(w/e material I end up using) and routed probably more around where my fog light was :thumb:

I would think a grill used to filter the air in the intake would not keep out certain elements due to spacing between the mesh on the average grill. Perhaps like a Panty hose in front of the grill...that could work. LOL

As for me I am just gonna fab a air duct through the stock IC location feeding the intake to the 3065...if only my trans wasnt screwed...

I'd like to say a few words...

1st, Congrats, the car is beautiful.
2nd I hate you, and love you at the same time. A lot like my last girlfriend.

That is all.

:D :rocks:

The grill is good enough to keep something serious from getting into my turbo and desrtoying it but yes a pantyhose or something like that could work too.
