How did you get your coolant temps so low for that entire run? At the start it is around 156 degrees and then goes to around 169 degrees by the end. I did also notice it does peak after you were coasting for a bit, after the run, to 200 degress and then it drops back down to the 170's within a few seconds.

Car may not have been warmed up or sitting for along time before the run.

Temps are low he makes the run they rise quickly. Once he stops the get to a max and pop the thermostat and the drop to the normal operatign temps.

30psi on pump with that timing and no knock is very impressive, almost unbelievable. What static compression are you running? I run 24psi on pump with 24 degrees peak and zero knock as well in my colt. Every once in a while I'll get a count of knock where peak torque comes in. It's all in the tune boys and girls. I attribute my zero knock count mostly to my cold air intake though, and the tune of course.

Alot of people are looking to deep into the logs and numbers, and forgeting about the setup. This is a very efficient turbo, with a great motor, intake manifold, and fmic. We could even pull more out of the car if we wanted to, and its very reliable as it sits. We found that out on our 3 wheel escipade on the way back from the track.

Congrats to a great driver and look for a 9 second pump gas pass in the near future :rocks: .

Exactly. What people don't realize is that there are so many factors that can affect knock propensity such as combustion chamber smoothness, forged pistons vs cast, exhaust flow, r/s ratio, valve timing and countless others. Andrews setup was just carefully thought out and its a very efficient setup plus those low coolant temps definately help out in the area of knock suppression. Things that work for some setups may not work for others, for example on my 60 trim setup I was able to run 25-26psi on 93 oct without any knock, I lowered the boost to 21-22 to get an ideal afr but my particular setup seemed relatively insensitive to afr changes, a pig rich 25-26psi felt MUCH better than a well tuned 21-22 psi. Hell, first time out on the 60 trim setup I forgot to turn the mbc down and the boost went straight to 30psi, I did some 1st-2nd gear pulls to 8500 just ASSUMING that my boost was somewhere in the low 20s, on the 3rd pull I decided to look at the gauge and what do I see......2 BAR WTF . It might have knocked a little if I did 3rd & 4th but in 1st & 2nd knock was non existant (maybe I should've kept it at 30psi :sneaky: ). My setup wasn't the highest flowing setup but it was very efficient (mainly due to the large hotside).

BTW Todd, with your setup you better run 9s at 140+ on pump :)

Here's the log from the 10.8 run.

Is there anyway for use non dsmlink users to view this log? I'm very interested in seeing the whole timing curve, not just knowing what the peak timing was. I think that is very important when running pump gas. Have the lowest timing at your torque peak and have the curve go up as the torque curve goes down.

For example I'm running 30psi on my hx35, 92 octane + 1 bottle of octane booster, and an occasional 1 count of knock. My peak timing is 20*, but at my torque peak its only 10* with a smooth increase as torque goes down.

P.S. Great job.

This is just unbelievable to me. All I can run is 15 psi on 91 octane with stock timing and fuel sliders zeroed. When I hear people running 20 PSI or 30 PSI on pump with no knock...I can't believe it...WOW

Yes, just download the client; it's free to use (and complete with source code, if you're into that sort of thing).

Thanks.

Timing curve was similar to what I was expecting to see, just a little more aggressive. Depending on which gear, the timing curve started at 13*-15* and climbed to 19*-22*.

super95awd, what injectors are you using?
Is there anyway to view tps with that log?

fastasleep: Read through the thread, that question was answered 20 times.

90AWDTalon: They are FIC 1000's and it should have logged TPS, you just have to change the displayed values.

thanks my dad and I were wondering where a drag strip was close to motown i think they need to build one closer, they used to have one called eldora but the turned it into a landfill or something.

Is PRP the same place as Keystone, or is that somewhere else?

I have been wanting to go up there and check it out. Do you go up during the drags, or go for test & tune night?

I was in regular racing this time, but they weren't very happy with a 10 sec street car without a cage running down the track. I had to dial a 12.0 on the last run as apposed to my 10.4, but it broke anyways, so o well. I would rather go up for test and tunes cause they don't care what the hell you do.

i'll give you 12 reasons why you can't post in this thread...LOL (inside joke)

Hahah, that track official was such a hilljack.

"So we can either run and loose, or run faster and get kicked out? Well hell yes we're going to get kicked out!"

28psi +no alkey +no race gas = boom
i just find it hard to believe

Keep on being a disbeliever. While you are disbelieving, we will be running 9's on pump gas ;).

FP made 500whp on pump with their 3052. Dre also made 500whp on pump with his custom spec to4e. Its all about the details folks.

Keep up the good work Andrew.

i do believe "hilljack" is a bit of an understatement.

seriously untill you people are running the exact same setup and have nate tune it (because he is a master mind). don't say things like "i just find it hard to believe", because you have no idea what this setup is capable of.
