10.6 A/F ratio with stock base timing... still knock!?!?!?

Check out my log. I recently set the base timing to the stock 5 degree mark on my 6bolt and tuned it to 10.6 A/F on my PLX wide band but Im getting knock maybe im missing something?

Something is off. I'm assuming an exhaust leak before the wideband. Look at the o2 volts when it is knocking and look at the wideband readings. The o2 volts say you are running a lot richer than you wideband. It could also be the fact that it looks like you have a bit of a misfire. That could also cause the knock sensor to go off.

How much boost were you running?

its set at 16 psi but creeps to 20psi by redline. Before setting my base timing I had no misfire or knock at all. I guess its possible I have an exhaust leak, but it has to be very minor. I have brand new plugs and wires too.

alright i'll try this method if my timing is off would this explain the knock, because it seems according to the stock timing map that my car is doing what it should. Its on the path of being 16 degrees by redline which is stock. If it is off from my logs does it look like its advanced or retard to much?

If it is off, it is probably your problem.


You can't tell if it is off or not by looking at a log. The ecu assumes that it is set correctly.

well I think I found the problem... when I went to go ground the timing on DSM link I accidentally unchecked ignore baro/intake temp oops ill report back with a new log after a proper tune is attained...

ok made the A/F conservative and still this... does it seem like its advanced to much on the base timing. and what mark should I set it on BTC or 10 thats the only scribes on the timing cover. I might do the cam light as adjustment what does it set it at with that method?
