1 Piece Front Control Arms

I have been looking and reading a bit over the past couple days and was wondering if there is anyone that makes a 1 piece front control arm for the 2g's or if its even possible. I think it could be done with a custom part and only using one of the ball joint holes on the knuckle, but Im not sure if that would completely mess with the geometry of the front end.

Also I heard somewhere about aluminum control arms off of sebrings maybe? can anybody shed any light on this?

What are you looking to accomplish through this? The lateral and compression arm move independently through travel and using only one ball joint I feel that you would be sacrificing some support.

I do not think the weight savings of eliminating an LCA per side outweighs the loss of support.

i wouldnt be eliminating one arm, the 1 piece arm would still bolt in the same places the 2 stock arms do but with the 2 piece arms when you launch because of the way they work they make the front wheels toe out and that is one big cause of wheel hop. So if i could eliminate that bit of movement it will improve traction. Also by going to a 1 piece setup you could then fab up a set of traction bars much like the hondas run to provide even more stability.

I would look into the 3g lower arms. They are a one piece unit. I don't know if they would work but the cars are quit similar and not hard to find in a wrecking yard.

Thanks for the info. Do you see any issues from a suspension geometry stand point, by going to this style setup and only using one ball joint hole on the knuckle?
