ive searched and searched but none apply to my situation, even used google. i know that ignition systems are pretty much the same for 2.0 to 1.8.....kinda. but heres the thing with my DD. ive replaced the starter with a new one from autozone, got working battery that holds the charge fine. replaced the starter relay underneath the dash board. i disabeled the little clutch switch. when i turn the ignition all the lights turn on and everything, i can hear the pump work. the only way this car starts is with a screw driver on the starter, with the key on ofcourse. so what i did is get a universal swithc and hooked it up to the solenoid and ive been starting it like this for about a month. i dont like it!! LOL:p

today the stupid lil switch broke so now i gota buy another one. i dont wana have to be buying a damn switch every month this thing desides to break on me, plus i thing is stupid the way it is. now could it be my ecm? because ive heard that the ecm determines when the car starts or not. in other words, if the ecm is bad....car wont crank, like its part of the ignition system. car runs fine. just wont start with the key. ignition switch maybe? plus ive never heard of an ignition going bad on these cars. but i dont know, maybe its a common thing.

thanks guys.:rocks:

there should be a single wire that hooks to the solenoid and gives it power when u crank the key is it hooked up ?

it was before but now that ive been using the universal switch is not. and i know for a fact it wont work when i hook it back on.
