alright to start off i just did a full over hall on this thing rebuilt the engine, rebuilt the transmission new master cylinder and slave damn near replaced every sensor did a full interior swap dash, carpet, ect...

i'm trying to do a compression test before i start the car but my problem is a no start i have power to everything the the battery is good and the starter has power checked all my grounds made sure everything i can see is plugged in i don't hear anything when i turn the key to the on position no clicking no nothing

is the anything under the dash i might of forgot to plug in that i cant see that could be doing this or any other ideas??

THis won't solve your problem but just to note you can't do a compression check until you've ran the motor and seated the rings. There are 100 things that can cause a no start but only a handful that can cause a no crank. Does it not crank? Or not start? Those are two very different things.

Battery voltage first, then check you're starter. Do you have an aftermarket alarm? If you do you might want to check it because they hook up to the ignition switch. I've seen many cars that won't crank because of this. Also check you're fuses maybe one of them is blown.

the reason for the compression test before start up was to prep the engine and get the oil circulated before starting and i know it should be done when the engine has been ran and warmed upped to get correct results but doing it before hand can also tell me if my ring gap is good if my valves are seating ect..if its extremely low i wouldn't attempt to start the car and waist all the $$ i put into machine work parts ect...

as for my first question i feel like a complete dumb ass haha the ground to my starter was wrapped around my battery cables and when i took the battery out to charge it i pulled the ground off the starter LOL

Grab a wiring kit. Use a foot 1/2 or 2 ft of wire and attach two spaded tips to the end. Put one of the spaded ends ON the starter where the power plugs on, then touch the other end to your battery. Assuming you have a good battery (12.5 +/- 500v) your starter should launch off. If it only clicks, then its the starter.

The relays are under your dash behind the radio, and the other are near the ECU mount under the passenger interior panel. Touch them as you crank the car and make sure you feel a click.

After that checks out - Check for fuel, then spark. After all this checks out then come back.

There is no reason for a test. If you second guess your machine work you didn't trust the shop in the first place. Compression test will tell you nothing. Leakdown might but a compression test won't.

I'm betting something was left unplugged or you blew a fuse on accident. If it ran before and all you did was change the engine/transmission/clutch components it should work now.

this one was non running half way torn down when i got it ...everything is pugged in besides the coolant temp because the car did not come with one and the rplacement i got was the wrong one

i have a list of things im gonna check tomorrow and ill get back to here with what i find out

First gens will not start with a missing coolant temp sensor. However, that does not explain the no-crank situtaion.

mine is a 2g???

the no crank issue was solved i was a dumb ass and the ground for the starter was wrapped around my battery cable and when i removed the battery to charge it i pulled it off LOL now its a no start problem i have spark and compression dont think im getting fuel at the right times

also i did some digging can anyone tell me what plug this is?? its small black and light blue comes off the wiring harness next to my fuse box

the second pic i need to know what that is to it has no cap on it i believe it gos on the passenger side fire wall need to know what it does to??
