now i seen this on here somewhere but cant find it no where....
i swear i seen someone say they had a 93 GS with a 1.8 cyclone now my question is...

did they make these in a 1.8 sohc???
and does it consist of just a head or the head intake main and exhaust mani?
and if all this is true

WHERE CAN I GET ONE?

AND WILL THEY CYCLONE INTAKE MANI FOR A 2.0 FIT ON A 1.8 AND IF NOT WHY DOES THE BOLT PATTERN LOOK THE SAME???

:dsm: :talon: :laser:

they do make the cyclone but they aren't really anything special than a normal 1.8L the only diference is the cylinder head has one extra valve on either the intake or exhaust, i'm pretty sure the exhasut side .. the intake manifolds are not the same and can't be swapped. there are not alot of things we can take off the 2.0 other than intake (not manifold) and catback exhaust for performance.. the 1.8 cyclone is a sohc ;)

ok so does anyone know where i can get one of these "cyclone heads"
i really really want one just cause i know what i could do with it so if anyone knows of one or can find one please please post it in here or email me

JDM 4G93= 16valve DOHC, turbo stock from the factory and very receptive to tuning, used in the CD5A lancers 93 to 95 ?? not a bad little engine as a bolt in and they will run 15 psi in stock form!

The 4g93 SOHC will not take 15 LBS of boost stock. It will take about 11-12 PSI then you throw a rod through the block. You are thinking of the 4g93 dohc used in the Lancer GSR. They were turbo from the factory. The 4g93 was the optional engine for the entire mirage line from 93-2002. Nothing too special. 113 HP from the factory but they ran pig rich so a good tuning will get good results. They would be a pain to fit into the DSM and none of the parts carry over to the DSM motors.

Mitsubishi made 4 1.8L motors

4g37-DSM
4g67-EU and JDM 89-92 colt gti
4g93(SOHC and DOHC trim) -93-2002 mirage
6a10- Not too sure what it found it's home in. Narrow v V6

My thread states DOHC!! And what is a CD5A? (GSR lancer) The part about receptive to tuning i think you missed!! Because just with the Fmic (not to big) we got 216whp/ 190nm at 15psi spiked to 18PSI and power was all in by 6875rpm, if i can find the old dyno run i'll email it to you but that was about 15 months ago. Why the BMW id?

Are you sure that's even an engine?

There are 6a12 and 6a13 engines which are 2.0L and 2.5L respectively.

Why the BMW moniker because I ride a bmw motorcycle. Have for years now. I have an 88 BMW k100LT motorcycle that is my toy. Hense the bmw88rider screen name.

Sorry, the 6a10 was the 1.6L and the 6a11 was the 1.8L.

In answer to the original question. I have the 1.8L Cyclone and I got it from Nippon Motors in SoCal. I did a motor swap and opted for a Japanese motor with minimal miles on it. I got it for under $450. I don't really notice any real differences and had no reason to check until now but there ya go. :thumb:
