Hey guys i got a 1g 1.8 car for free but doesnt run for some reason. I checked to make sure it was getting fuel to the fuel rail and it does. I checked to make sure its getting spark and it is. So i figured i would do a cold compression test and all 4 cylinders had around 100psi cold. So the compression seems to be good.

What else would cause it not to start??

Im thinking 100 psi is enough to get it started also. I checked spark by just putting a flat head screw driver in the end of each spark plug wire and cranking the motor over and it was getting spark. Im not to sure if it was enough but there was spark coming from all 4 of the plug wires.

Now for fuel i took off the fuel feed line to the fuel rail and fuel is getting to the rail. Im not really sure how to check if there spraying out of the injectors. How would you guys suggest checking this i guess??

Im kinda thinking the timing is off a bit but just doesnt make since why it would still have a decent compression numbers on all 4 cylinders on a cold test. i would figure if the timing is off that much some valves would be bent. but not sure on the single over head cam motors.
