well i got hired for a job at a building that i really like working at. So i'll be able to afford more parts for the talon!!! but i'll have less chances to race...
My boss is cool and knows i race so im sure he'll let me have a few wednesday afternoons off to race.

Looks like my tires, new clutch, cams, and smim are all doable for this year!!!

Anybody going to make it for opening day?
I dont think I can get off work early. I just started a new job and want to impress for my 90 day probationary period.


On another note, my car has been wierd lately. I cant tell if the battery is almost dead, or if my starter is on its way out/dead.
When the car cranks, it cranks REALLY slow until it starts. Its been doing this for a while, and making kind of a whine noise (sounds like its coming from the ecu area or dash) when im cranking. I checked voltage during cranking and it went down to 10v one time. I should check again because the car wont crank now. I pop started it in reverse (was parked uphill so i figured that would be less stressful) and then i was able to move the car, then turned it off and it wont start again...! The car charges at 14v while driving and everything. The battery isnt *too* old, maybe a couple years... The starter on the other hand, could be original for all i know. (cars at 200k now!!!)
Ive been thinking about pulling my trans to do a clutch job and try to figure out the wierd noise from my trans/clutch/fw area, so maybe i'll just replace my starter if/when i do that.

Hey Dave, interested in helping with a trans r/r for some $$$?
I was thinking of just taking it to FFTEC, but $600 is a lot of money, and i might need a new friction surface for my flywheel, then i need to get the step height checked, and then i dont know what the noise is and i want to fix it so i dont want to leave my car at fftec for hella long.

I think I can make it, I just have to hook up an oil feed line, install a mbc, re-program the ecu, then tune a little.

I was hoping to take another shot at the 14b record. I got a FP race manifold, EVO3 O2 housing, 7cm turbine housing, and dropped 75 pounds out of the car this winter. I'm sure it would've gone even faster, except this happened last night;

For me, Ill be popping out sometime in the next 3 or so months. I still have to finish my fuse box relocation, do head gasket, t/belt, water pump and clutch.

Nothing's poking into the turbo, the screw fell off and the shaft backed out. It put out a huge smokescreen.

I'm hoping to run low tens on the GT35.

Sure, Danny, I can help out with the clutch work. We'll have to coordinate schedules. It shouldn't take long.

I get paid on the 6th and plan to order stuff then. so think hopefully itll be in by the 13th, so probably that weekend or the following week depending on your schedule. I wouldnt mind working on it one day/evening then coming back and finishing it the next week or whatever.

Im planning on getting:
Clutch kit ( comp clutch stage 4, 6 puck sprung disc)
New fidanza flywheel friction surface
three speed scattershield
New clutch fork
New pivot ball
Im thinking if i need any new bolts? I dont remember if me and paul used the FP longer bolt kit + auto trans shim/spacer thing...
New starter

Anything else you can think of that i need or would be smart to replace while everything is out? ( i have fluid already)

I have to fix my twin disc, it started slipping and is shot at only 6 months old. While it's out I need to send off my tranny to TRE to get built again, 3rd gear has lost all it's teeth. After that I will be good to go.

I was doing a 3rd gear pull to do some tuning and at about 6k rpm it let go. This was back when I was runing Link and boosting 27psi. I'm on my spare trans right now.

well i changed my starter today so that i can actually move my car for street sweeping. I think im going to order up my clutch stuff, and probably upgrade to v3 of DSMLink as soon as my credit card payment goes through.

From there its tires, then i can race!
After i get tired of the cars power, cams and SMIM are on the list, as well as maybe an(other) upgrade to the fuel system to possibly run e85 or just gobs of gas for big boost.
Hopefully my tax check from the feds comes soon so i can get most of this done!

Dave, did you get the gt35 in all the way yet? I know you were talking about needing to put in the oil lines and a couple small things to finish the install.

Yes, I finished installing he GT35 a couple days ago. I took it out for a drive and discovered it needs to be tuned! :suprise: On the first pull it was pushing 30psi while sputtering and smoking from being way too rich.

So tonight I rearranged the mbc pieces to lower the boost, gapped the plugs to .026 and leaned it out.

Well, im in the market for a new daily driver...
Was on my way to go get a haircut, and i had a green light for about a half block, proceeded to enter the intersection, and a guy blew his red light, going about 35-40mph and hit me in my front fender and my door.
Good thing the guy behind him stopped and gave a witness report. Cops came, took a report and they called an ambulance for me because i couldnt breathe very well. Went to the hospital and got checked out and nothings broken, but im all banged up. My sternum and ribs hurt from the seabelt, my sholder hurts from hitting the side of the door as well as my head, and my back hurts from being jostled around, my right hip hurts when i put weight on it, but i guess its all just going to be sore bruising type stuff because all my x-rays checked out to be nothing...

I know im not at fault here, so i should be getting a couple grand for my altima. If anyone knows of any deals on clean daily drivers let me know. Also if anyone knows how to get paid for pain and suffering let me know too haha
I'll be in bed browsing craigslist off my vicodin for the next couple of days.

Good thing i got the talon running this morning or i wouldnt have a car to get to work!!!

Holy crap Danny that's just freaky. That's the same place I got hit in my Altima, and in the same way - I had a green, and as I was passing through the intersection a guy blew his red light and hit me on my driver's side door. Hmm...if this trend continues maybe there is a G35 in your future (don't do it anyway, gas mileage on it sucks for a DD). I don't remember the exact number, but I got around $5000 for my Altima.

No way, $5k for the car??? Were you hurt or anything? Because in the police report it says me and my passenger were hurt. What year was your car? and it was the GLE or highest end trim right?
Did you have a bunch of receipts or anything? I just put 4 new tires, new front brakes, stereo work for like 500 from best buy, new injectors...
This is really inconviencing me so i want to get as much money as i can. Man im sitting here hurting, i can barely put weight on my right leg.


Man this is some BS, they towed it to auto return near 850 bryant and they have some stupid ass hours, i will HAVE to miss work to go get my stuff from the car. Most importantly my parking pass for work...... ahhh weak.

Anybody know anything about c-class mercedes benz's??? Theres a couple clean ones on craigslist. Im looking at the c220. 4 cyl, rwd, great gas mileage, luxury riding and leather and all...

no buckets for me, i need something nice, clean with leather. I can never downgrade, always upgrade. I went from an 86 accord lxi as my daily, to a 94 nissan altima, now i need something newer, and nicer haha.

I dont want any car that will temp me to mod it. Nothing but maybe some tint and audio. Stock wheels, nothing where im going to start trying to make more power haha.
