I was finally able to remember what I did 34 years ago to divorice the for lamps from the headlight switch so the come on and stay on regardless of the beam setting. Schematic attached. Seen notes. This will allow fog light operation regardless of weather oh low or high beam.

I can't quite read your notes but this was the very first mod I did to my car and all I did was ground pin 2 on the fog light relay.

This was probably my only mod on my original '92. Glad you can't read the notes because they're wrong. On paper they should work, but practically they don't.

I did ground the red/blue on the relay, but the switch still would not control the fog lamps with the parking lamps on. I has to jump the green/white wire on the switch to the cavity where the solid green wire is. I removed the solid green from the plug, heat shrinked the end and taped it to the harness. Same with the red/blue wire at the relay.

Since the donor Talon's wiring looks like a 8 year old went at it with butt splices, electrical tape and scotch locks, I just harvested the wires from that car. Soldered the green/white jumper to the connector in the fog lamp switch and plugged the red/blue into the relay block with enough wire to take it to the body ground. Everything possible to not cut into a harness.

It works the way I want it to now. :sneaky:

I misunderstood what you were trying to do. You want the fog lights to be totally independent from the rest of the lighting so you can turn them on or off from the switch.

What I and others did was stop the fog light from turning off when you hit the high beams. That's the simple task to provide a ground for the fog light relay coil on pin 2. A short piece of wire from the relay to the mounting point takes care of that.

Your quest requires you to provide both power and ground to the fog light relay. Starting back at the fog light switch you have to change where it gets power from for pin 6 and if you want the light to work along side it it's a bit more involved.

I'm glad you have it working the way you want.
