Hey guys,
Im looking for advice. This noise just started a few days ago. I instantly drove it home and tore it down. I figured it would be the throw out bearing so I dropped the trans. The throw out bearing looked shot and had a ton of play in it so I replaced it and put the car back together.
While the car was apart I looked at the clutch and everything looked intact. Springs werent falling out and nothing looked out of the ordinary. Now I did not take the clutch off the flywheel because I misplaced my alignment tool. I have a F1 stage 3 sprung clutch and it has been good to me for 30k miles. The clutch still grabs like new. This noise is happening when I am halfway depressed on the clutch. If I put the clutch to the floor the noise continues for a second or two then stops.
So what do you think guys, Bad bearing on the trans input shaft? Do you think I should of dropped the clutch too and inspected it more thuroughly? Did one of those pesky field mice get inside my transmission? Crankwalk? . Open to any suggestions since Ill be tearing the car all back down tomorrow or the day after.
