I know probably not many people know this but if any of you do I would like to know. I personally have never gone to the track so those times don't have much weight with me. Also it would be nice to see how souped up dsm's compare to the stock 0-60 numbers of other higher end cars.
Thanks! :D

Good call dude, I heard MotorTrend is going to start using G-techs to test new cars because of the extreme accuracy. I don't know how I forgot about that.

Why would you spend the time putting in all those numbers into that "calculator" when you could just pick up a G-Tech Pro off ebay for $50. Gives 0-60, 1/4 mile time and speed, lateral g's, continuous g's, braking distance,.... only thing it doesn't do is 60 foot.

That's how I get My info.I picked 1 up last year for 60 bucks from ebay, now you can even find em for less.I t also measures HP if you've got your cars curb weight with you in it. :thumb:

I'm curious. How accurate are the G-tech meters. Like whats the uncertainty%??? does anyone actually know? i was interested of purchasing one myself but i don't want to purchase something that won't produce better results than me holding a stopwatch while driving... :dsm:

Yeah, it says specifically how accurate everything is in the manual. The most important factor is you setting it up right. You have to put it exactly in the center of the windshield, line it up straight, and level it, which it lets you know when it's correct. I think it uses 1 accelerometer instead of the more expensive ones' two but I dont think that drastically affects the accuracy. The 1/4 mile spead (or maybe time?) is supposed to be More accurate than the track.

Edit:
Ok, I looked at the manual just to get this info out there. It has internal accuracy and real life accuracy, so I'm going to give the real life.

0-60__________+/- 1/10 sec
60-0 _____________2 ft
1/4 mile e.t. _______1/10 sec
1/4 mile spd_______1 mph
hp _______________3 hp
inst. G's __________2/100 G
Cont. G's _________2/100 G

Using a calculator off the net, so take it for what its worth, I click off a 4.8 0-60 using my 1/8 mile et, and a 4.9 using my 1/8mile trap.
