My son just got a 2g tsi stock motor (in fact stock everything except cosmetics, transmission and suspension. The car seems to run great. The only thing is the car will generate a lot of white smoke after boost. It smells like fuel not coolant and it is white smoke and does not smell or look like oil smoke. Dropped by my mechanic today with the car (he is not a DSM guru or anything) but he thinks the valve seals may be bad). Bad valve seals would be blueish smoke would it not? I was thinking the car is running rich for some reason. Coolant would almost have a sweet smell to it am I correct? Is there any way to tell? I am bringing it to the mechanic for a pressure test tomorrow but is there any other "tests" to tell what the smoke is? Again the only thing I smell is fuel and it is a strong smell. I have read about 30 smoke related threads but have not found any like this. Any help would be appreciated. I am old school and am trying my best to learn these DSM's.
