2G Yet another electrical issue.

I the alternator is no good. I had a bad battery. I had a battery with 950cca in the garage (actually 3) and hooked it to the car. Tried to start it and it barely would turn over. Battery still reading 12.5 so I hooked up to my Edge and it just turned over fine but wouldn't start. I'm going to check to see if I have spark but I have no idea why I'm not at least turning over on just the battery and turning over fine hooked to another vehicle.

Not going to lie, that was a little hard to read and understand. But from what I took from it, I would check your wiring going to the battery. It sounds like you might have a bad connection.

Agreed on all counts.

Either have bad wiring for the starter (make sure all power from batt-to-starter and grounds, especially one from starter bolt-to-body and batt-to-body are good, clean of corrosion and tight) or a bad starter with dirty, corroded or worn main post or commutator contacts.

Sorry for the bad post. I rule out a bad starter because when I'm hooked up on cables it starts normally. Like you both said I'm going to find each ground and also the battery to starter and fuse box. I rolled the GSX out of the garage to paint my son's '95 Civic Hatch. When I bring the car back in I'll be putting a new alternator and coils also.
1-check all grounds and battery positive connections
2-install alternator and coils. Thanks for all the info. I'll have my video of what I've been doing to the GSX and Civic up on YouTube either tomorrow or Saturday so if you want take a look and maybe you can spot something I'm not seeing and/or something I need to do. Seeing something is much easier.
