My friend has a WRX and apparently Subaru used Mistubishi turbos in the WRX. AND the 16g is a common swap. Is this true? If so what is it called so I can do some more research. I've searched a little on wrxtuners but I don't know squat about Suby's.
I ask because he happens to be upgrading his turbo, which means he'll have a turbo lying around. Would anyone know if I could swap his old one as a simple mitsu turbo swap. (Plus hardware of course.) I'm getting signs of shaft play in my turbo and would be willing to swap, even if its the same turbo.

Edit: I did search and the only post came to a very scrambled conclusion. No one seemed to know for sure, just a lot of people correcting each other.
