Well I'm getting ready to install my Autometer boost gauge. I did a search to try to figure out the basic steps, but there is too much info that conflicts. One thread will say tap it here, the other will say tap it there...So I'd like to get a solid answer. Please only reply if you have experience installing the guage on a 1G.

So from what I've gathered, it should be tapped from the hose marked "P" on the throttle body. Is that correct? Or will that only read when I'm on the throttle? Where do I need to tap it to get a reading any time, throttle or no throttle? Also what size "T" fitting and vacum hose is needed? Can't I just use the hose supplied by Autometer? If I do get a rubber hose, will it fit onto the fittings that came with the gauge and connect to the gauge?

I know this is a common question, but there is so much info that doesn't agree with each other...I'm planning on taking pictures and making a how-to for a 1G, since most how-tos are for 2Gs...

Thanks,
Tamer

Great thanks..

Will I need to do anything to connect the rubber hose to the gauge? Or will it fit with what is included?

Thanks,
Tamer

if you bought a new autometer gauge, it should have come with a small white nylon hose that connects into the back of the gauge with a crush washer type of a thing. The hard part is getting this nylon line to fit airtight with the "T" fitting on the vac line.

Yes, I installed mine the same way as RRE said to install it, and it works great, and Cold is right, that nylon hose can be a pain to work with sometimes.
