wow my worst day ever.....

so this is what happened to my dsm thursday august 11th 2011.
im not gonna go into detail but

someone ran out in front of me and i couldnt avoid them and messed my dsm all up.
(this was a human, not a car)
i got my car impounded lost my lisence, phone and both my jobs
and went to prison....oh and did i mention i got charged with aggrevated battery?
WTF?
Well lets hope things work out seeing as how i couldnt avoid him and trust me i TRIED.
so wish me luck :banghead:
 
Two suggestions:

1 - get a good lawyer!

2 - start knocking on doors to find witnesses.

The right lawyer will make all your problems go away very quickly. It'll be expensive, but it'll be worth it in the long run. You don't want aggravated battery on your record. Wish you the best of luck!
 
Wait wait wait.

1 : Why did they take your license?

2 : Why did they toss you in the poky?

3 : Were you insured?

4 : Did you have your license on you?

5 : Did you beat up the person you hit?

There are some serious unanswered questions here. Please detail everything.
 
What I am getting out of this is he was in an arguement or confrontation with the person who was hit by his car. When he went to drive away the person stood in front of his car to stop him from leaving or something "TEEN MOM" like. Or someone is just frigging crazy and jumps out in front of cars for giggles. Either way you are pretty much screwed because no matter what unless u have 100 percent proof (video or a witness statement) that the person jumped in your way on purpose YOU will take the fault. You will need a really good lawyer to protect you from all the charges that will be brought up because you car is actually considered a DEADLY WEAPON.
 
sounds like alot is missing from this story, they don't just take your license, car, and put you in jail for nothing.

they obviously think there is enough evidence to convict you, did you lock up the wheels to try and stop? the skid marks on the pavement would indicate at least an attempt to stop. otherwise with the surrounding neighbors backing the other guy, kinda sounds like your screwed.

Smart man here. But if you're not worried because you have nothing to hide, then it's all good.

Like everyone says, there's not enough information here.

I do see 1 issue with the story. You did NOT go to prison. If this happened the 11th of August 2011 and the post is created on the 14th of August 2011, then that leaves no time for even an arraignment hearing.

I don't know exactly how the courts work there, but typically you have an Initial appearance, then arraignment, and it all goes downhill from there. Going to prison takes weeks if you are a probation violator and already know you're going. And it takes months to get to prison from the beginning. I've seen people stay in county jails for up to 3 years before they get to a prison. Of course that's fighthing in trial etc.

But I really wish you the best of luck!!

I'm sure he meant jail not prison.
But to the OP, you are keeping a lot of details to yourself, kinda makes you sound guilty

(this was a human[some kid who got with my girl], not a car)
i got my car impounded lost my lisence, phone and both my jobs[no insurance at the time, didnt pay my phone bill and as for my jobs..i tried running my bosses over too!]and went to prison....oh and did i mention i got charged with aggrevated battery? [i only wanted to break his legs not mow him over with my 99 eclipse]
?
