  If I were to get a bunch of fix it tickets on my engine( turbo, exhaust, no cat, cams, etc) Would I be able to sell the car with the tickets or would the tickets follow the new owner??
I was just curious becuase I live in san mateo county where the police are cracking down on illegally modified cars and wanted to know if I got stopped, would it be the end of it for me:beatentodeath: Could I sell the car without fixing all of the tickets??

Ouch that sucks. move to a state where they dont care.
I lived in MD for a long time and the cops were jerk offs too, so I moved. Now I can do what I want to my car and never have to go through emissions or inspections or any crap like that. Just a thought.

I would call the local police department and ask them to verify.

dude talk about not pratical though man. If money would be better where you move then yeh. But in major towns and city's not they crack down and if you move away money sucks and hard to get a good job. If it worked for you man hell yeh I'd love to get up and go and not have to worry but for others its a little more difficult. I know cali has a big budget so try online somewhere for a web page with the rules. I second the police department call.

I live in california, and im not 100% sure on whats the law but i got a ticket on my mustang for no front license plate and told him that i took it off so he could see it without the plate and the cop said you have to put it back on and take care of the fix it ticket before you sell it or else it hurts you. Basicly what he ment was if you dont fix it you pay the fine of the not fixing it. Im not 100% sure of this but he may have just said this to be a dick but im not sure. maybe somone else could help out here.

You're required to supply a current smog check with the car when you sell it. Between private parties, it's almost always skipped, and the new owner usually gets his own. However, if you have citations on your car, those belong to you and will until paid and/or corrected, or proof of the car being scrapped is provided to the court.

You have fix it tickets on your cams????

nO, i JUST HAVE AFTERMARKET EVERYTHING Lol! I do not want to get pulled over and that be the end of it. I am trying to figure out if I get pulled over, hood poped, and searched; that I can still sell the car ( cause there is no way of me fixing all of the parts). If I get pulled over and slapped with fix-it's the only option is to sell it. But, if the tickets are going to stay with me even when the car is gone, then the only safe way is to sell it before I even drive:beatentodeath: :beatentodeath: :toobad: :barf:   :(
