Would it be to loud?

Was thinking about going to shop to get a exhaust made up for me instead of buying one because itd be cheaper, and was wondering if anyone has ever had a 3" t-back straight pipe (well, straight as possible) with a N1 muffler on it.

is it to loud? dont want to get pulled over by the cops.

Depends on if you are going to put resonators or cat on it. Since you don't want to get pulled over, just put 2 resonators on it along with a highflow cat. The power loss is minimal at best. It is going to be louder no matter what you go with. Anything besides stock is going to sound alot more aggresive. :thumb:

Too Loud... ?? i didnt know that was possible

Well i dont know about everyone else but ive got catback with magnaflow muffler that pretty loud, and ive never been pulled over. so i wouldnt worry about it too much

well the plan was no resonators, cats, nothin, just a straight pipe with a muffler hehe :thumb:

;) I run that aswell. See this post here.

What midnght said was right, if you run resonators with a high flow cat your power loss will not be alot, but it will still sound sick. I just put a full Apex'i N1 exhaust (downpipe and all) on my friends 99 GSX and it sounds awsome, plus he got some good gains up high. I have a Apex'i GT spec and I love it, its a lot of money though but I actually got a pretty sick deal on it thats why I got it, and I got some awsome gains from it. Hope this helps you out.

I have a bushur 2.5" downpipe, 3" downpipe-back exhaust with no cat and a huge 4" internal straight-through dynomax muffler. It's loud, but not overwhelming. I even ran this setup with my external wastegate vented to the atmosphere for quite a while and never got pulled over. Now that was loud.

Yeah I have an external dump as well and it is definitly loud. Didn't get pulled over because of it all though.
