Would cams be a good choice for me?

My profile is currents if you want to take a look.
Otherwise I am running a 6 bolt with 2G head,E316G, 560cc, 190lph, PR FMIC.
I am looking into possibly 264/272 cam setup, but would it be worth it.
I am not familiar with cams (I know what they do, but would they help my setup any more than stock cams?)

Some 264 degree cams (hks are really mild) should definitely accent your setup nicely, if you're gearing for more torque and less top end, especially on stock old valve springs. Obviously I still will recommend to upgrade to at least a good single valve spring. Maybe the evo intake manifold also?

I was running a pretty similar setup, except with a 1g head, and a 255, and when I went to a BC272 setup (which the cam cards actually list as a 268/272 setup), it for sure had alot more up top. I'd say the purchase was worth it for sure. Totally safe for stock valvetrain too, so if you don't want to upgrade to new springs just yet, you can just leave the redline alone, and still enjoy the power increase without worrying.

My first thought is that you dont have a tuner listed under your mod list. What are you using to compensate for your fuel mods?

Secondly, if you do have a tuner then surely your fuel system is maxed out. Theres a lot left in that turbo with just some larger injectors. I would go that route before upgrading the cams. Better bang per dollar.

Third, I would never run any cam upgrade on 20 year old oem springs. Thats just asking for trouble.

Personally i would run the gsc s1's, hks 272's, or delta regrinds with some kiggly beehives.

You need a tuner of some sort .... replace those OEM springs w/ new stuff ( OEM EVO springs / retainers , BC springs are like 80 dollars from EBay , Kiggly behive's etc etc )

+1 get some bigger injectors ( 750cc or if you have ECM link 2150cc FIC and run E85 )

You really need to choose one of these paths and go down it, ( I would go with a Tuner and injectors and see what a ( huge ) difference you see.
