...a 97 black rs with 98000 miles that has a seized engine for 2500? i have 2500 left to pay on the loan i have for it so i am lookin to get that for the car if anyone wants it. im not expecting much of a response but its worth a shot.

pics are in my gallery

I'm sorry, but I wouldn't. I got my 94 eclipse for $700, the only thing wrong with it is hail damage. So my view is that there are always killer deals out there, you just have to be patient, and pass up a lot of good overpriced cars. I would say it depends on where you are from. If the engine is messed up, I doubt people will pay alot for it, because that's the majority of why someone would buy the car. If the body and everything else was good, I would think you could get $1000.

Yea, being the non-turbo version of this car; it's not really very desirable... Your best bet is a college or high school kid taking auto classes...

...or sell it to a highschool or college auto shop! :p

put it up for sale and see what happens..but be VERY helpful to people looking at the car, go out and get quotes on how much labor would be...go out and get quotes on how much an engine/rebuild kit would...if you do that, then they can see how much total money they will be spending on the car.

To put your situation in perspective -

I bought my 96 gsx with 120k on the clock for 1700$

it has m/t, power drivers seat, leather, etc etc

granted it could use some paint (not bad at ALL) but still

ask 1500 IF the car is perfect apart from the engine

yeah i will see what happens with it cause right now i have had some quotes for 1k for an engine and then 750 for labor. the car in excellent condition from kelleys blue book is 4500 so 2500 left on the loan plus 1750 to fix is about that so i was just throwing numbers around to see what i could get back. worst comes to worst if i cant get a good deal on the engine replacement situation i might just part it out. how is the market for this now?

you can pull like $1k-2500 from parting it out. im sure you can do a motor for less then you were quoted. ( you can pay a local dsm'er $200 + beer+pizzza and get a motor from a junkyard.

Check our classifides and put a "WANT TO BUY" engine add in there stating that you need a block+head from a 420a.
