Would a Rear 02 Sencor. Thats towards the end of your exhaust, make your car run lean, or car have bad gas miliage? What would it do?

I believe so, I may be wrong. Have you upgraded that section of your exhaust system? You should pull the o2 sensor and check it, see how bad condition it is. If you still have your catalytic converter on there, that too could also possible be your problem. They can also get clogged up after lots of miles, and may need to be replaced.

I just looked at your profile and saw that yeah you did change your exhaust. How did your o2 sensor look then? also a wire could have gotten damaged, check that too.

when I bought the car it was already changed. I took it to a dsm tech, he ran it on his snap on logger thing. And said that the rear 02 sencor was showing up (my check engine light is on) He looked under and said it looked damaged. It is a bi*** to replace it. I was just wondering if it would make me go faster or whatever or have better gas miliage..

Rear O2 only monitors catalytic performance not engine performance. I have mine unhooked as most do on here. I run my wide band signal through it to my ECU for logging wide band O2 values on DSMlink.

^ yep. Its only there to verify the working order of your car. Often when people put get rid of the converter, they plug an o2 simulator into the harness to keep the ECU happy. It basically sends varying signal volts much like your stock sensor would so you don't flag a CEL. Other people don't care about the light and ignore it.

Other than a slight annoyance, removal/malfunction of the rear o2 will not have any affect on performance or gas mileage whatsoever.

If you are having a problem with gas mileage, have him verify that your front sensor is cycling like it should.

I got an 02 simulator off ebay as well as the heater wire simulator.
For our cars you need both, I got them for $25 together.

Took about 10 mins to mount and install nice and neatly.

CEL hasnt come back and its been over a week. I love it.

You dont HAVE to get the Heater Wire simulator, but if you dont get it you will have to keep the 2 heater wires connected to your 02 sensor.

I got to cut EVERY wire to my 02 because i bought both.

They came from Baker Electonix, here are the ebay links. They were well worth the money I think.

Well Do u need to do the 02 by pass. to just use a simulator?

The 02 bypass you have to get the correct resistors or you car can catch on fire.
The 02 simulator, everything is done corrrectly already, you just hook the wires up.

Because the simulator will trick the Emissions CPU into thinking everything is good and hooked up.

Plus, people say the second 02 doesnt do anything but my cars drivability feels a whole lot stronger. If you check the forums, some people say it doesnt do anything, some people say they can feel a difference when its fixed.

I personally felt a difference, might be a placebo effect.... but i felt it. :thumb:

Is there any Pictures showing how. I am having trubble understanding. So is the simulator, just Hook up were the sencor already is. I just want to go the easiest cheapist way, Should I just leave it?

I think the safest and easiest way is just to get the simulator & heater from bakers electronix.

I didn't wanna buy the wrong resistors for the bypass and have a chance in my car catching fire.

For the Simulator and heater install, all you have to do is cut every wire going to the 2nd 02 sensor. Leave the 02 sensor in the piping. Take apart your center console and pull the 02 wiring thru the floorboard. Then hook up the correct wires and thats it.

They give you a wire diagram, its super easy. Black to blue. Purple to black. (like that)
With pictures. You cant mess it up trust me.

i went through two different o2 simulators and both sucked. Sometimes they would work and sometimes they wouldn't, i went through the wiring tons of times. But that was a couple of years ago. Technology has probably advanced since then. Good luck.
