I have a 1990 Plymouth Laser fwd and my list of mods are....
272 Crane Cams, wiseco pistons, eagle rods, clevite bearings, ported and built head, evo ported exhaust manifold, evo big 16g ported and big wastegate actuator, evo ported o2 housing, 3" bushur downpipe, 4" ATR pitbull turboback exhaust, 255lph walbro pump, 660 cc injectors, and some other minor mods.

I've started to put together a maf and maf-t together but im still running with a smic at 15psi on my car and i think that its time to get a FMIC but i dont feel like getting something huge and un-needed on my car, maybe get a supra smic or a small but nice fmic but i dont feel like paying 800+ on a kit. I want something that i wont have to cut my bumper but will be good enough to let me turn up the boost alittle more. I thought about looking for an evo intercooler but would this let me have enough room to work with? Thanks for the space.

yeah your ready for a FMIC. today , i just bought SBR's Street FMIC kit, yeah it was about 800 bucks but oh well. However you could do a smaller FMIC w/ a water injection system if you want to stay smaller

dang seems like most kits that are really nice go for about 800. I dont think im ready to bite the bullet on a kit but it seems like i might have to. Would a stock evo or a stock srt-4 intercooler be able to take more than 15 psi? How much can these intercooler hold at least?

The Upgrade Paths listed in the Tech Guide would have the answer for you:

Any decent kit will run around $800, unless you piece something together yourself. The kits are a good bargain at that price. It's not about how much PSI it can hold, it's how efficient it will be and how good it will flow. Most EVO guys are upgrading their FMICs, so I don't know it would be a wise upgrade. What are you trying to achieve with your car? Most people want big numbers but don't want to pay for the parts needed to produce them. You gotta pay to play. ;)

well this is my daily car but id like to be able to push the car to its limit on weekends. I dont want it to be that much faster than it is right now because of the fact that its a fwd and i am probably close to what i will get out of it as it is now. At the dyno i had 270 at 15 psi, turned it to 20 for one run to see what it would get and got 300. What intercooler is better, an evo, srt-4, or supra smic? Id like to run around 18 to 20 psi all the time so would those 3 intercoolers be out of the question?

www.dejonpowerhouse.com has a street FMIC, at least for the 1G but would have to check for the 2G, and piping that would help incorporate the MAF for your maf-t system you are setting up. It would not carry a larger turbo but you seem to be set with what you have. mark

well if i have to spend 800 on an intercooler what would be the best kind of intercooler for the money? big or small?

I'm getting 330 HP at 15PSI with the big Dejon side mount. But I just race my car balls out! (Oh yeah, it's a 90 Ply- Laser)

do you ever have any problems racing with that side mount? Would you say dejon side mounts one of the best for the money? well dejon intercoolers are good for the money?

I got the first one they built with absolutely no regrets. I can't have a big friggen front mount blocking the air ways or I'll over heat for sure. When I hit my boost up to 20PSI I'm a clean 400hp and my temps begin to rise but that's on the straights (passing)! The engine has been reliable... almost two seasons without a rebuild.

Did you get the super big side mount by dejon? 9 1/2"Wide x 9"High x 4"Thk? rated at 400 hp?
