I have a 98 GST with a six bolt swap. Its still a project, it ran before. then I went to start it to move it. It just would turn over. It would bump like it wanted to start. Then die off. I checked for timing #1 is in the top dead center, and everything is in time. Checked the resistance between the coil 1 and 4(12.68 ohms) 2 and 3(12.75) ohms. The spark plugs were wet. Dried them off and got the gas cleared of the cylinders. Unplugged the ECT, I checked them out (old ones never taken out3.4) (new one 3.04). Then I turned it over tried to start bumped for just a second then died, and keep cranking. I have tried a little bit of starting fluid and nothing. I put a jumper to the ground side of the spark plug and spark wasn’t constant.
I also checked the power transistor #1and #4 side I get (.594 DC volts). Then on the #2 and #3 I get (1.281 DC volts). I’m guessing it’s bad.

Or am I wrong. Using a 1.5 battery (like it says in the Chilton book) Then this maybe something else the starter starts fine but when you turn the key from the on position to the off the starter acts like its grinding. If it’s not bad what else would cause it not to start.
