tried jumping it , fuses are good , radio comes on ,

turn the key and it is clicking to the right of the radio if I put my hand on the side of the center console near the radio I feel it clicking. Its also clicking in the fusebox/relay area. My gf said she heard a slight grinding/rotation noise coming near the intake manifold but I was turning the key so I didnt hear it. I cant figure this out , Ive only had the car for about a month and I am new to DSM's I come from the honda world of wrong wheel drive.

really wanna get this thing started its my DD

It coul be your starter clicking. will your engine turn at all...and do some research.

No the car wont turn /crank at all. I did alot of research. nothing yet of my specific situation but thanks for the warm welcome :p

my buddy chris told me to check leads from starter , everything is connected bettery terminals are night and clean and tight. no blown fuses . it happened right after I got a new head unit.

if it was the fuel pump relay , it would be turning over correct? because one of the clicking spots is right near where the fuel pump relay is.

Did you cut and splice any wires when you installed the radio or did you use a aftermarket connector to the factory harness? You may have spliced into a wire that runs to the ECU.

nope I swapped a kenwood for a kenwood , didnt even change harness's , its clicking at 2 spots , fuse box and where the fuel pump relay is , tried tapping the starter to get it to work. no luck. this is my DD but rarely do I pay anyone to do any kind of mechanic work , the only thing that sucks about that is that it takes me longer to diagnose a problem.

when you turn the key to "run" the lights and cd player go off.

when you got your head work done your timing belt could have gotten messed up. did this problem just come out of the blue. how or when did it happen. I.e. while you were driving, or just going start it up in the morning. If it is possible post a vid. of what is happening.

Mine did this a couple weeks ago. I just went through and cleaned up the connections to the battery and the ground on the firewall. Another thing you can check if you have a voltmeter is just see what volts your battery is at.

First check voltage at the battery. See if it drops from static to around 9.50-10.00 volts when you turn the key. If it doesn't then there is no connection at the starter. If it does, the starter is drawing voltage but not turning over. Take a hammer and lightly tap the starter while having someone turn over the key. If the starter is bad it will break loose and the car will turn over.

Does anyone know what the piece is that pushes in the clutch switch so that car knows its disengaged and it will start? its a little plastic piece , mine was like nasty clear/yellow. I looked in my haynes an couldnt find it , anyone know a name or part number? I would greatly appreciate it.
