I need some help here. I'm trying to get my Talon road worthy again. Here's my electrical problem.

Events in order:
1a Balance shaft moves in and out. (Elimination takes place in 2 weeks from now)
b Drive car around neighborhood hood flips up damage to windshield and hood.
2. Car starts to sit with periodical start up. 1 start per week.
3. Wires and battery terminals are found to be corroding.
4. Car doesn't start after about a month of not running the engine. I figure its that battery. I mean you should look at it.
5. Replaced battery and ground wire.
6. The start up after the replacement, I find that the rear defroster won't turn off.
7. Start car the next day and the battery is dead. Either the alternator isn't working or its the "parasitic leak." I'm pretty sure it's that defroster though because why wouldn't the car start the next day after the new battery install.
8. The way I have been running the engine is through jumper cables for awhile because of the leak.
9. I start the car and run it. Then i shut it off. Start it again and now it won't start. It's electrical. I'm positive.
