Ok for other big turbo guys that plan on running like 30psi like me maybe with small shot of spray..say 100hp tops.

What piston to wall clearance are you using and what top ring and 2nd ring gaps?
I don't want to see oil burning at the lights either, the car is a street car primarily and will be broken in normally. I realize for track break in type scenarios you usually run the clearances higher by quite a bit.

Wiseco tech said run .0035 piston to wall and run .19 top and .21 2nd..
Like to hear from some of you guys and what you are actually running and any pros or cons ,like oil at lights, smoking on normal driving..excessive slap etc.

Wiseco tech told me to run .0030 w/ a top ring gap of .16, 2nd ring gap of .18, as I told them I would run a max ever of 30 psi or so. You have to remember, if you got the coated pistons, once it wears off you have another half a thousandths of p to w clearance. I have yet to start my engine, but I have no worries about the clearances.

Those gaps are on the small side...sorry. If 30psi boost + nitrous will be in the equation, I would go BIGGER.

P/W of about .0040-.0045 and around .24(top) .26(bottom) for the rings if i was doing it on my own car. However, it's your motor. :thumb:

BTW...search for Brian Nutter's posts in this forum. He's a Wiseco Tech and you may find his posts a tad helpful.

diambo any ill effects from your recommended settings? flutter or excessive cold or warm slap..any blowby or loss of compression under normal driving. My car is 99% street car but might see very rare 30psi run and pretty rare nitrous shot over say 50 to 75hp.I am not that greedy.
Anyone run these bigger settings and what ill effects if any did you see on the wisecos..I realize ross and other pistons are much looser settings for p to w.
