Wiring plug

Can someone ### tell me what this plug goes to it has 3 wire's 1 black,1 red, 1 blue with a red strip? The car is a 98 gst the previous owner said the car use to be a 5 speed and they changed it to a auto,and im going to change it to a 5 speed. I dont think it is a reverse light bc mine lights up when iam in reverse unless it is the plugg for a 5 speed reverse. I am going to try and put a pic of it in here just to let u see it is right behind where u put water in the rad.

Seems to be the CAS plug...
Probably converted to use the 95-96 (under intake pulley) instead of 97-99

Should it plug into anything? My check engine light is on but i think its bc my o2 sensors are not plugg in i have my exhaust off. What is the cas? Thanks for the reply.

The CAS is the cam angel sensor, but since yours is probably converted its no longer needed. Correct me if I'm wrong but I can see a connector put on one of the wires, that would conferm it.

Yes it looks like some one has wired it in with a connector. Does the 6 bolt motor have a cas? And what do u mean it has been converted ? Do u mean they wired in a cas plug for a 6 bolt swapp?Thank's for the reply.

no thats not a cas for a 6 bolt and yes the 6 bolt does have a cam angle sensor, but it on the intake cam bolted to the head. im not sure why else the would convert it except for a signal to start the car instead of the clutch switch when going from manual to auto.

It looks like it was converted to a 95-96 type cas which is on the intake cam gear, 90-94 and 97-99 have the cas on the opposite side of the head where you have the empty plug.

Ok let me ask another question. I looked at the auto transmission and only found 1 plugg going to it, is the reverse light plug seperate on the auto? The reason i ask is i noticed on the 5 speed there is a single wire going to it with 2 wires. Im sorry to ask so many question i am new to the dsm. Thank's for all the reply
