Saturday was a big day for the RochesterDSM One Lap team. We had all sorts of little projects to work on and even as we check things off new items pop up and it seems like we only take baby steps closer to being ready.
I worked on fabbing up a new 4†air intake pipe to go along with the Art Hoffman FP3052 turbo. I also needed to add a v-band clamp to the exhaust system to get rid of the last weak point. Mike Hayes started to lay out the TunersNation.com donated hood vents while Steve Burke finished wiring the power inverter. I finished up the hood vents by cutting the openings, painting the vents, and later installing them. Steve moved on to wiring the gauges and the water injection.
We had a guest in the garage, Chris Wirth, stopped out to work some of his magic by building us a cold air box and doing the duct work around the fascia. Mike jumped in with him to lend a hand and the results are pretty slick.
Some of the work spilled over to Sunday night where Steve toiled away with wiring and I helped finish the mounting of the water injection tank in the trunk.
We still need to make the final connections to the water injection and we’ll need to find another source for the boost nipple as t-ing into the BOV line isn’t going to work for us.
Its going to be late night tonight getting everything ready for the STM dyno tomorrow afternoon but when it rolls up there and you guys can see it rip live it will all be worth it.
