One day my rear wiper stopped working. I flipped it on and herd a buzzing noise from the b piller. Flipped it off then back on and nothing, no noise, and it no longer worked. Before that I had no intermitant and it only worked in the "on" position. It also would not return to the upward position when turned off. My 3rd light (high mount stop) also stopped working. Figured I'd start snooping around and see if I could figure it out. One wire at the rear wiper motor is completely fried all the way threw the car. I have pictures. Blue wire, red tracer. It has melted completely threw the insulation in many spots. Completely bare exposed wires, and it melted to many other wires insulation as well. From the rear of the car it runs from the wiper motor to the connector in the b piller. At the bottom of the b piller the wire splices and one runs to a relay, which im assuming is for the intermitant. Then the wire continues to run threw the harness and the farthest I've chased it is near the fuse box. Then I ran into some hack job that I have no idea why its there. A yellow wire and green wire were butt connected. The green one came apart and is just open. Anyone have any idea what the hell happened? Any ideas where the blue wire for the wiper runs? The fuse block? Im looking to repair this correctly.

Pulled a new relay out of the junk yard and threw it in. Any idea where in the hell the wire runs to? Fuse block perhaps? All the wires at the wiper switch appear to be fine.

The blue/red trace wire runs from the switch to the motor. There is also a blue wire... this runs from fuse #9 (15A) in the junction box and it is spliced to the intermit. relay and to the motor.
You may want to check for a short or re run both wires.
P.S. those butt connectors in that body harness... eww, im wondering if they have something to do with your problem

Ya the wire that fried is the one that splices into the itermitant relay. I have no idea what the butt connectors are for but ill be getting them out!

LOL, here is the schematic for the rear wiper system if it helps
