i have a 98 eclipse rs. my wipers stopped working a couple days ago while it was raining. which sucks. i checked the fuses under the dash and the wiper one was blown, so i put one of the spares in it. the wipers go halfway up and it blows again. i turned the wiper switch off and put in another and it did the same. half way up and blew again. i tried to put a 30 amp in to see what happened, it did the same thing but the lights in the car dimmed when it blew. do you guys think its the motor, relay, switch? the only thing i have done recently is put on an underdrive pulley, because my old pulley was bent. any suggestions would be great. i have read all the forums on here, but none off them really had any answers. thanks for all your help.

i just cant see a relay causing it to blow fuses, but i guess weird shit happens. do you know where the relay is located?

Never put in a larger amperage fuse than what it calls for.....Thats how you melt wiring.

If replacing the relay doesn't fix your problem, it is time for a new wiper motor.

Sometimes when a motor goes bad it takes more amps to do the same functions. So your wiper motor trying to move is maybe now trying twice or three times as hard to work thus blowing your small amped fuse. Pull the motor and apply power to it with a fuse installed on the wire and see if it still blows the fuse. If it still blows..... you know what to do.

does anyone know where the relay is? the parts stores keep telling me there isnt one. there is the pulse board, but it is part of the motor. but they say no relay? im thinking it is probably the motor. seems to be a common problem.
