Hey Everybody,

So here is the thing, my GSX wiper motor was working fine except the motor would not "park" the wiper arms itself after being turned off by the switch (they would stop wherever on the windshield). SO, after doing some research I replaced the motor. I bought a re-manufactured one from RockAuto. I put everything back together except I left the wiper arms off to test it. WORKS GREAT. Parks itself, and works on all speeds ect. BUT once the arms are installed they work for a second and the fuse pops. It's like the motor has too much load with the arms on and pops the circuit. The linkage seems to have good free-play by hand so its not binding or hitting anything but just too much work for the motor I guess?! May just be a defective motor?? Anyway, I'm thinking to put the old OEM motor back in and see if it pops the fuse (it didn't before). Any ideas?!?!

I'd say you're on the right track. I swap in the old motor just to test. Also would be a good idea to test the current on both motors and compare that you way you really know if it is the motor.

I've actually always had good service with RockAuto. No questions asked, re-sent out parts ect...

ANYWAY, today the new motor from Rockauto was popping fuses right when I turned the switch on. Didn't even get the linkage moving..SO I re-installed my old OEM motor and no fuses were popping and it was working accordingly. So it must be a short internally in the new motor. Filed a claim with Rockauto and they will be shipping another motor. If the next motor is junk, I will be going the OEM route.

I've also had good experience with rock autos customer service. My daily (jeep) is currently doing the same exact thing right now but I've been too lazy to even fool with them bc I'm working overtime a lot for dsm funds LOL. Hope rock auto gets you a good motor this time.

Also have never had a issue with Rockauto even living in Hawaii. The few times I've had issues they sent me new parts ASAP or a refund. I had a window switch from them completly wired wrong and had to fix. It worked good and still does but the auto roll down was wired to auto roll up LOL. Op I have a 95 parts car with a good motor if you want it and it will work pm me and we can work it out. ;)

Alright well everything is back together and working awesome! The problem was that faulty motor!! The new motor that RockAuto sent out is great. Came in 2 days too! Anyway, I want to thank everybody that replied. :thumb:

You're lucky, they are not a site vendor they are a vbulletin generic vendor. All customer service claims are handled via email and they require you to send the old part in to issue a refund. That's every single time I have had to deal with rock auto. I've never heard another person with any different of a story in the past year since they switched their systems
