I've been in the garage for the last couple of weeks doing some work on my 92 awd talon. I decided to post sum pictures and give a little backround. I'm pretty new to the dsm world. I've been working on them for about 2 years but I've only owned one for about a year. I've learned alot from this site. Especially that timing belts and balance shaft belt break on these cars. Which is were my winter project started. I decided to do a timing belt and balance shaft deleat, which turned into a motor pull and a motor refresh. Along with a bunch of upgrades and installation of parts that I had laying around but never got around to putting them in. Heres a short list of what I'm doing.

ACT 2600 with the street disc
ss clutch hose and slave extension rod
ss brake lines
FP manifold
Fuel Lab FPR
Fuel feed line, from filter to rail
EGR block off plate
new rings
new bearings
ARP head and main studs
full engine regasket
and alot of cleaning and degreasing

While I had it apart I took the time to have the FP manifold, turbine housing and o2 housing ceramic coated. Did a little porting on the compressor side of the turbo and got the motor mounts painted. Let me know what you think.

Thats what I'm hopping for. The valve seals were leaking so I was bunning quite a bit of oil. When I got it appart I found the balance shaft bearings were tore up, and the balance shaft belt was all dryrotted and cracked.

I've been busy as hell lately trying to get this car back on the street and I'm in the process of switching jobs. I have some new pics but haven't been able to put them up due to the fact that my works web security is back up blocking photobucket. But the car is back on the ground with a fresh set of megan racing coilovers installed and a Dark Preformance intercooler along with a set of RC 550 injectors. I can't wait to get the intercooler piping back from the painter so I can drive it some more.

More pics coming soon.

Heres the car back together and running.
