I just finished my first DSM build. I am very impressed with the car. I built it for my girlfriend and after driving it I have decided I need one for myself. I will be starting with another GSX or TSI with a blown engine or something like I did with this one. I want to build a great DD winter warrior and sleeper. Here are my plans, let me know what you guys think and any changes you reccomend.

6-Bolt JDM Engine $1,000
SBR Stage 1 2.3L stroker - $1150
Buschur 3" TBE w/Test Pipe - $775
SBR Cast Manifold with Tail WG - $500
SBR Bastard 20g (BE316g w/20g comp wheel) - $799
DSM Link - $750
Walbro 250 - $99
FPR Kit - $155
FIC 850cc Injecotrs - $315
SBR Spec 3500 Clutch Kit w/Fidanza Flywheel - $650
SBR MBC - $50
Forced Performance Intake Setup - $180
Forced Performance Cams Stage 2 $430
Port Match head and intake manifold - $Free
Forge Recirc BOV - $140
SBR FMIC - $880
16G install Kit - $120
ARP Head Studs - $100
Mistu MLS HG - $100
Water pump, front cover, plugs, wires, timing belt, tensioner so on.. - $675

I am hoping to make around 400whp on 93 pump and do 11's. Do you think the SBR 20 bastard is the right turbo. I want a torque monster with the best spool I can get. That is why I am going with the stroker. I also considered a FP Green, GT-30R, and normal 20g. But I feel they are overkill and I want this car to be reliable enough to daily drive. Are the 850cc injectors enough for my power goals also.

you forgot"winning the race...PRICELESS".do you plan on doing the work yourself because you can achieve your goals way cheeper than that.half that stuff you dont need to get 400whp...maybe think about a nitrous set-up because that is the best bang for your buk.:thumb:

If your going to get a stroker motor then dont get a jdm start with the blown engine that comes with the car.
On a side note you want a stroked motor and a small turbo

Whats wrong with a stroker motor and a small turbo. I dont want over 430rwhp. But I would like to have the quick spool and make some low end torque. I think a small turbo setup and a stroker is the best Daily driver setup you can build. Also great for a Auto X setup. Recently I saw a Evo IX stroker make over 400whp and over 500wtq on stock turbo. Also I will be doing all of the work myself. How could I do it for cheaper besides nitrous. I am not a fan of nitrous. As for building the motor that comes in the car. I forgot to mention I will be building a 2g and I figured I would do a 6-bolt swap right away. That is why I will buy a JDM 6-bolt or a junkyard 6-bolt. Then I would have the better engine and no crank walk problems. Better head, throttle body and intake manifold. Instead of building the 7-bolt and putting 1g stuff on it. Thanks for the help.

When does the stock MAS become a bottleneck. Should I look to upgrade it for 380-430awhp.

As for the engine, I found two 6 bolt non turbo motors in a pull a part salvage yard. 50 bucks gets you the whole thing as long as you are willing to do the work to get it. I am sure there are junkyards near you that are similar to that. As long as you are planning on using the stroker kit you will not have a problem with a n/t block and those are pretty abundant.

I didnt know I could use a n/t 6-bolt. Are the heads, intake manifold and block the same. I will be doing a stroker so you are right the rotating assembly wont matter. Also I will use a SBR manifold so a n/t engine will save me some $$$$. But I do plan to work the 1g head and intake manifold so hopefully they are the same on the n/t engines.

The only major differences are the throttle body, intake cam, and the fact that the block does not come with oil squirters for the pistons. None of those differences will cause a major problem with your goals. Actually the G4CS block that is use in the 2.4L conversion does not have squirters either.

Well that sounds to me. I will be swapping the cams anyway and I could pick up a 1g turbo throttle body for cheap. How hard is it to come across a G4CS block a 2.4L stroker would be even better.

Nevermind I found the G4CS block. Would be nice to have 2.4L but I wonder if it is worth the extra $$$. Unless I just use the a G4CS block and then 4g63 crank with stroker rods and pistons. Sense I am only shooting for 400whp do I really need a 1g head and intake. I can still port the 2g stuff and I would save alot of money.

Now that I think about it more I will end up doing a 6-bolt swap and a 4G64 crank eagle rods and Wiseco pistons. Then I will port the head myself and match the exhaust and intake manifolds. I think I will pick up a n/t 4g63 I am not worried about not having the oil squiters. Maybe if I can find a good deal on a 4G64 G4CS block to get the extra 100cc's. and just sell the 6-bolt block. But most likely I will just do a 2.3L setup.

Ya hopefully it goes well. I gotta rebuild the 300zxtt and sell it. Also need to do a pan gasket and distributor on the Procharged Camaro and sell it. Then I can start the DSM. Thanks for the help.
