This issue is one of the weirdest issues I've had with my DSM so far. I've searched the forums for a while and couldn't find a similar post to what I have going on. My issue is that when I step on the brake pedal, my wipers turn on and stay on for a couple seconds after I release the brake pedal. When this happens the wipers turn on at the low speed setting. I figured that it was a ground issue when this issue first started happening. Figuring that the bad ground in the brake light system was somehow sending power back threw wiper system to find a better ground source. So I went threw and cleaned all the grounding points but that didn't fix my issue. The issue doesn't happen all the time, mainly happens during and a few days after a rainy day. After a few days everything works normally.
LlllThis issue is somewhat mind boggling to me because the brake and wiper electrical systems should be completely separate, at least that's what I would think. I was talking with a family friend (who is a master tech) the other day about this and he said it could be in the engine bay fuse/relay box. Saying that if the fuses or relays for both systems where close to each other that the moisture from the rain could cause the power to jump from one system to the other. I don't think that's the case after looking at the layout diagram on the fuse box cover. I'm just wondering if any of you guys or girls out there have had the same or similar issue, or have any insight of what may be the cause. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Currently I have my wiper switch unplugged because of it and just plug it back in when I need to use my wipers, which is fairly annoying to do as your driving down the road. Could the wiper switch itself be the cause? One other thing is that the car did have an alarm/keyless entry installed and removed before I bought the car. All the wiring and connectors are still there just the brain was removed. The install is kind of hacked up but there is no reason to tap into the wiper system for an alarm to be installed. I've had the car on the road for over a year now and this issue started about 2 months ago during a rainy day. Everything was fine up till then. Thanks for reading, any ideas or advice will be greatly appreciate.

. I'm with you guys with fuse box mess. Only thing is in the engine compartment box there is only a fuse for the brakes (Stop Lamp, 15A Fuse) and nothing for the wipers, at least nothing that is clearly marked for the wipers. I figured there would be a relay in there for the wipers at least but according to the diagram on the cover there's nothing. There is a 20 amp fuse in the interior fuse box, but there is no brake lamp fuse in the interior. So both systems don't seem like they are close together at all. Unless they are bundled together in the harness as it goes threw the fire wall. Which doesn't sound very fun if that's the case. I am very suspicious of the alarm install, but there should be no reason at all for the alarm to be tapped into the wiper system. But then again, it could have been installed by some hack job wannabe mechanic who shouldn't even be working on cars in the first place. The install definitely looks like that may be the case
. As I stated in my original post it only really happens during days with heavy rain and for a few days after the rain till it drys out it seems. When its dry everything works perfectly. This makes me think that it would be something in the engine compartment fuse box or wiring harness. The inside of the car stays dry, so I'm iffy that the interior fuse box is the culprit. This issue just boggles me, I just can't wrap my mind around how the two separate systems affect each other. It only turns on speed one, never on the intermediate/ delayed setting or speed 2 setting. Any thoughts on it being the wiper switch itself? What about thoughts on a ground issue ? Where the brake lamp system has a bad/weak ground causing the power to flow backwards looking for a better ground (which just so happens to be the wiper system) which ends up powering up the wipers to setting speed 1.
