I just installed a new tob, fidanza flywheel and stage 2 clutch. I just finished with a non modular upgrade. After bleeding my clutch I started the car and noticed its making a loud whining noise when the pedal is pushed all the way in. It house into gear fine and sounds good when the pedal is out. It sounds almost like when a power steering pump is low on fluid and u turn the wheels. What could be my problem?

Over extending the clutch plate. Adjust the rod on your clutch pedal.this ifs presuming you have something like a stage 2 clutch now.if it were the t.o.b. it would whine until you depressed the clutch.so it's not that.also wouldn't hurt to bleed the slave again.never mind..you do have astage two...this changes allot of contact points.

Yes I filled it with 75 90 synthetic

No I haven't adjusted the clutch peddle but I will give that a shot

again. this is a manual transmission!
SAE 75w-90 is the corect fluid. do not fill it with atf!!!!!!!!
and again, this is not even the issue. is anyone who replies reading the post? Theres an issue with grinding while depressing the clutch. How, in any way, shape or form is this related to fluid? Its not. you have a clutch rod travel issue or if that dont work , you have something messed up with the install of the throw out bearing or clutch.First adjust the rod so it has slack. On a stage 2 clutch you should engauge closer to the floor than with the stock clutch.

General consensus is use ATF+4, or Amsoil Synthetic Manual Synchromesh, so lose the "!!!!!!!!"

Knowing which fluid he used to begin with, is the best place to start, after that we can start working into adjusting the rod.

Since we are dead set on adjusting your clutch this may help you make adjustments v

I have never herd of anyone trying to use atf in a manual trans. most every one uses redline mt90 I use lucas 75/90.

DO NOT PUT ATF IN THE TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The proper gear oil has been said in my last post. Actually, yes, go ahead and put atf in it. report back and blame ^ for blowing your tranny. Again. how full the tranny is , or what fluid was used, has no bearing on the adjustment of the clutch rod. thats like saying, becuse you put dawn dish detergent and water in your windshield fluid resivour, now you have a missfire on one of your cylinders. Totally irelevent. lose the bad advise!

do not put atf in the manual tranny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Colbert, I use only AMSOIL ATF in my '98 Talon non-turbo manual transmission. These cars were made to have ATF in them to lubricate it. You do not need AMSOIL Manual tranny fluid...you may run into problems. Your owner's manual says to use ATF, so why not put the best around in it?

Yeah go ahead and put atf in the tranny. once again. not a good idea.Elaboration: the setergents in the atf WILL eat at the gear seals over time. Also the atf viscosity is no where near enough to properly maintain a manual gearbox. Now, for the nay sayers, there ARE manual gear boxes in other cars that were BUILT for this extremidy. This gear box would seriously fail if you use atf. I know because I have alot of dsm friends who had to rebuild their tranny from this mistake. Use gear oil, not ATF! But again, first adjust your clutch.

Just out of curiosity which clutch did you use for the non-modular setup?

I guess we can all agree that you should check the clutch adjustments.
If you don't like the idea of atf, use Amsoil Synthetic Manual Synchromesh. It all comes down to personal preference.

I just wanna say thank you guys for the help. The clutch adjustment was my problem. Btw I'm running a clutch master stage 2 with my non-modular set up
