Wilwood Rotor Hats With Stock GST Calipers

Does Wilwood make a rotor that will work with stock Eclipse GST calipers? I believe the stock GST rotors are 10.3". So I would need part numbers for the front Wilwood hats and the rotors that would go along with them. The smallest rotor I've seen so far is 11". This may sound crazy to some but I'm going to need new front brakes soon and this seems like a way to slowly work my way up to the complete kit. I can just bolt on bigger rotors when I have the cash for upgraded calipers.

Another question I have is about the combination parking brake calipers for the rear. I don't see any available for the eclipse on Wilwood's website. How do these even work? Does this eliminate the entire internal shoe mechanism currently on the car? How do you hook them up to the factory e-brake handle? It seems like it would save some weight in the rear where its needed most. Any answers or install pics would be greatly appreciated!

On the first question, I doubt it. But there are plenty of fine companies that do.

On the second question, yes, a caliper with a wire-pull-activated function means that you no longer need the drums. I have never seen anything like this on a DSM. I considered it for my Evo, but adding a hydraulic hand-brake and keeping the wire-pull drum would clearly be easier, so I stopped looking into this ... and that says a lot give what a pain it is to add a hydraulic hand-brake to a car with 4-channel ABS.

its really not that hard to upgrade to gsx set up.. and it will be the most cost effective, but if you want the awesome stopping power of oem gst calipers good luck.

Ok I did some more searching and I came up with some rotors that are 10.25 inches. The part number is 160-3747. Here is a link to them Wilwood High-Performance Disc Brakes - Rotor No: 160-3747. So I think these will work but I need some hats to go along with them. The rotors in the link have a bolt pattern of 6x5.5. Looking at the hats available with a 5x114.3 wheel lug pattern, the only available option for the rotor bolt pattern is 6x6.25 Wilwood High-Performance Disc Brakes - Rotor Hats. So I guess I have some more searching to do.

Also does anyone have a link on how to install the rear combination calipers. I'm sure someone has them in their build thread on some honda forum.

1st - yes someone will build a 10" 2-pce rotor for you - why bother ? This will not improve your braking one iota - it will save several pounds of unsprung weight though. You will then throw away the rotor blade when you upgrade, making it very cost-ineffective - not to mention that the Al rotor hat will probably not work with a different rotor blade for one of two reasons - a) the new blade may have different PCD for the hat bolts, different # of hat bolts, and b) the new blade will be much thicker, so the hat will almost certainly need remachining or replacing to centre the new blade - bolting a 1.25" rotor to a hat for a 7/8" rotor (or whatever) will have the inner rotor face hitting ball joints, caliper mount ears or something - may not even have room for the new caliper mount. Save your money until you can buy the full kit, otherwise you're throwing money away.

2) There are lots of combination rear calipers on the market - specifically check out VAG cars, they even have Al combo rear calipers on some models. Wilwood has an iron combo rear caliper and several circle track-type companies have tiny pure cable operated calipers weighing very little. It can be done, if you want to.

Thanks for the replies guys. So basically I have to find a rotor hat that fits the 10.2 inch rotors and also the 11 inch rotors that I would be upgrading to. No such luck so far. I was kinda hoping Paul Volk or snowboarder would help me out with this one since they seem to have a vast knowlege of all kinds of rotors. Maybe they will chime in at some point.
