Will this replacement fuel tank work?

Hi, I'm hoping someone can clear this up for me and I am assuming the seller has catalogued the part wrong. Is there really a difference between the 95-97 and the 98-99 fuel tank? I have a 99' gsx that I would like a fresh replacement for.

That's a gs gst tank. Gsx is different

GSX tank has to accommodate for the drive shaft, so there is a big "hump" in the middle of the tank to account for that. Also, I believe there is a difference in 2GA and 2GB filler necks or ventilation or something along those lines that affects filling it up at the gas pump.

There are also differences with some of the vent/emission ports between 2ga and 2gb tanks.

get an oem gsx. that steel one will rust from the inside. also metal ones have seems, they are more likely to leak.

Millers Import will be your best bet for an oem tank that you know will fit. Send them an email or call them. Good guys to work with

The 95-97 and 99-99 tanks are different, because the filler pipe is also different. The venting is very different and a GSX tank should have a second opening just like the one for the fuel pump. It should be on the passenger side in about the same equivalent place as the drivers side.

I agree, I messaged them about a part and they got back to me fairly quickly. This was a less common part in my opinion, so I am sure they probably have an OEM fuel tank.
