Will this Hood fit Turbos?

judging by the pics it does seem to have a hump over the cam gear area. If you notice right by the rightmost vent (in picture) near the fender you will see that the hump starts there and continues across the rest of the hood and tapers off in the front and back. I hardly think that VIS would make a part that would only fit N/A cars because then they would be closing off the whole turbo market, and that just isn't good for sales. I would call and get a definate answer but from the looks of it you should be OK.

there is a hump in that hood, and it will probably fit, that looks nice. all except the chrome lights and bumpers.

That hood is excatly what I need with my header....but I was told the same thing that it wouldn't fit. Then somebody else told me that you can use those hoods but you have to take your timing belt cover off and run open cam gears. If you find the answer plz post. Either that or I am going to have to cut up my VIS Double Sided Hood and put a CF hood scoop...###

I got that hood, i dont have turbo but it still has a bump over a great area of it. I am pretty sure the guy @ vis said it fits turbos too. Call them up they are great people. btw, the hood is nice, as for the vents, it comes with a piece of cardboard type material under it, but you can unscrew it and it would be open. I am debating doing that, seems like a good way to release heat. I am just not sure about letting a big hole open to the atmosphere around here (rain, snow)

i meant to take more pics of the car this weekend, maybe if i get out of work early enough in the day tomorrow ill take some pics of the top and bottom and post them up here.

Its no different the rain going down than it comes up from when you hit a puddle. cept now itll just hit the valve cover and steam up all badass.

More pics or ban!

couldnt you unscrew it and replace it with some sort of grill?

the reason he has that gap is because he needs to adjust those 2 little rubber plugs. Lower them to make the hood more flush with your bumper.

My VIS wouldn't suck the gap tell I cut the rubber bump stops....
Screwing them all the way in didn't help.....

THE QUESTION STILL REMAINS>>>>>

Will these EVO/Invader/GT/Slotted hoods fit our Turbo cars?

Could we get this post moderated? OFFICIAL?

yes

besides its a grand am vs evo lancer....geeeez and I thought I wa new.....LOL

It looks hot, and each to their own opinion...

Besides is it on your car?

a flat hood will fit a 2g dsm with minor modications.... aerogear makes a predator hood that is completely flat and is the same hood in the supra in the fast and the furious. you need to adjust a few things for it to fit, but ive read that its not very hard.

if anything it would hit the timing belt cover

they will all fit, i had that predator hood on mine and its turbo. it fit fine, closed good, the onlything that was modified on my hood though was i cut out a part of the support right above teh cam gears, so it would fine and still keep the cover. i dont have that hood any more though, went back to stock. there wasnt a bump on the top of that hood at all.

there is a pic in my gallery of the hood i had.(THE PREDATOR HOOD)

if you look at the pic the hood is raised in the center section, so it will fit the turbos. I wnet to order one last week and one of the performance shops here called there east coast and west coast warehouses, and the hood is nowhere to be found. Hopefully VIS will step up production so i can get a new damn hood!

The pic in your gallery shows a huge gap in the hood to bumper, is that still there?
The gap is still there, I am working on it, i really am

the reason he has that gap is because he needs to adjust those 2 little rubber plugs. Lower them to make the hood more flush with your bumper.

unfourtunately the rubber stops arent the problem. It has something to do with when the old hood flew up at me. It just dosent want to line up right anymore. Im taking a closer look at the hinges this weekend. btw i cant take more pics tonight, its pouring out and I really dont feel like getting wet.

I called ViS, they said nope. wont fit, or atleast it didnt have the bump designed for that. So i went out and looked again (now im quite wet, LOL)

I think it should work, but Im not garunteeing anything
