Ok i want to get this stereo:

Pioneer Model DEH-P4900IB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882117098

But when i use the Crutchfield website, it says that it doesnt fit my car. My car is a
1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T, that didn't come with the Infinity System.

I was wondering is someone had this stereo installed and how good did it fit?

How would i get it to fit?

it will fit in your car, all you have to do is buy the adapter kit/install kit for it....and a wiring harness as well.

go to bestbuy for instance, and dont have them try to install it for your you(rip off)!

It won't just plug in... you'll need to cut off the plug for the stock head unit and splice on the connector that comes with the new head unit. It can be a little bit of a pain to figure out which wire does what and goes where, but isn't all THAT painful. Just remember to disconnect your battery before you start, as one of the wires is always-live to maintain radio settings.

Also, have to warn you about my own greatest irritation with the Pioneer DEH line... with all the 'do-nothing' buttons available when you aren't listening to the radio (ie: the preset buttons), none of them is repurposed as a PAUSE button. Have to use the remote for that, or fumble through the function menu. REALLY bad UI design.

I have a Pioneer DEH P6800MP. I wired it to a $5 harness adapter. It screwed right to the factory radio brackets, mounts perfectly flush. Can't (and shouldn't) use the included bezel. I installed mine about a year and a half ago, but I don't recall it taking very long, maybe 45 minutes.

Short answer, it fits just fine.

Mine doesn't have any of those pre-set buttons, it's all done with the multi-function knob. I will completely agree though, many common functions (like pause or attenuate) are not located very intuitively.

The trim bezel never fits on the 2g does it? Unless you trim it and/or the cover/border of the stereo/hvac unit.

Install kit, and wiring harness should do the trick if you are not getting an amplifier, as already mentioned.

Do not cut wires on anything when installing a stereo. Adapter plugs are readily available and cheap. And although soldering is supposedly the "correct" way to make electrical connections, virtually every connector in every car out there is crimped. Done properly, they're both mechanically and electrically complete.
DSMs have caverns for stereo installation, and will accept any DIN or ½-DIN radio on the market. The faceplate is standard DIN. You may not be able to use an aftermarket radio's trim ring, however.
Many sites -Crutchfield, for instance- show a "Does Not Fit" for a large range of radios. They're wrong.

...that is so right!....i had to "shave" a little off of the plastic bezel so my aftermarket unit would fit cleanly.

wow thanks for the all feedback, will let you guys know how it goes
also im in the market for the 98 gsx front bumper and the turbo high spoiler, any good sites/places i can grab em from??

i have the pioneer deh-p7700mp fits like a glove, and i got it from crutchfield... I've gotten into it with them on some of there stereos, when they say they dont fit but realy do. If you get one from them, you'll get a nice install kit.
