Will this exhaust setup fit?

Hi all i just ordered a cx racing downpipe off of ebay. It is 3 inches and eliminates the cat. It does not neck down at the end of the downpipe. I also purchased an ebay catback exhaust system. In the system there is a piece that allows it to fit to the stock system. It is a flanged setup that necks down from the rest of the 3 inch exhaust. It looks to only be an inch or two long. My question is will i be able to fit the downpipe to the catback without the need for that neckdown expansion piece? It looks like it should connect no problem, but will this two inches make a big difference with the fitment of the exhaust on the car?

well currently i am living in salem oregon, I dont believe that they have emissions laws here, only the portland metropolitan areas. Would an exhaust shop here do it then?

just called in to a local meineke, i guess its against federal law to work on an exhuast without a catalytic convertor. They must put one in place in order for them to do any kind of work on a car

I plan on putting up the exhaust, both the downpipe and catback and attaching the two flanges to the downpipe exit and catback inlet. Then i think i will use jbweld to hold the piece of exhaust pipe in place too the flanges. Will that hold enough to take it to a muffler shop to have it welded?!?! Or can i just use jbweld to hold the flanges to the pipe??

dude just mark the pipes, then take the mocked pipe to the shop and have them weld it

but how would you get the proper angle of the flanges?? They are at different angles and if your off by a little that will greatly screw things up

ok nevermind i got what you were saying using the marker on the pipe itself and the flanges so they know where to line them up at

ill do that tomorrow when the catback gets here. Then just install the catback until i can pay for the welding to be done. I got a quote from 3 places yesterday on welding those flanges to the pipe and they all said close to 40 dollars. Seems kinda steep for 2 welds

so i ordered a catback for the 2g 95-99 eclipse gsx but i am currently having trouble installing this thing! Does anyone know if there is some kind of special trick to install this thing! Downpipe was no problem but the catback is killing me!

looks like the company sent me a 1g instead of a 2g when clearly the auction stated 95-99 eclipse gsx.

so for the time being i am running open downpipe on my car!!! Not good! Anyone have any ideas on a quick fix or a true catback exhaust for a 95 gsx that is relatively cheap!
