If by hooking right up you mean splicing the wires, ect to get it to work, then in theory it does.

VAFCs can install onto our cars, but I wouldn't recommend it. Since the low and high percentages also affect when Vtec kicks in our ECU may confuse the Vtec control signal for something else, which could cause engine damage. I personally use the SAFC to tune my daily, it works well.
