They wouldn't need to re-pin it... all they do is re-flash stock PCM's; no hardware modification necessary.

I got a kick out of this part; "Allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery." Yeah, right. I'm also strongly suspicious that it is even available, LOL.

And Paul, how do the reflash to change the pin positioning? 97 pins locations are different than 98. Do they somehow re-route information inputs or something?

The pin assignments are only slightly different. Regardless, my point was that it's not some built-from-the-ground-up ECU that requires new hardware for each iteration. The hardware stays just as Chrysler designed it. They only re-flash the unit with new firmware, which shouldn't affect the pin assignments.

Putting a 3.55 transmission in a 420A DSM is very common... I'm sure that's why he raised the question.
Yeah it was why I asked, hell did you know the SRT4 tranns also fits. so in reallity there are a few ratio options,

GearRatio ~ Engine "usually" paired with
-------------------------------------------
4.12 ~ Chrysler 2.0 DOHC (
Rare DOHC ACR neons)
3.94 ~ Chrysler 2.0 DOHC (and SOHC magnum's/RT's/ACR's)
3.55 ~ Chrysler 2.0 SOHC
3.52 ~ Chrysler 2.4 DOHC (SRT-4/GT PTcruiser)

And a rare few 6-speeds(like 20-30)will be Modified from the 4.12 from a guy on neons.org

Each and everyone of these gear ratio's will significantly vary the cars overall performance,:laser:

The mounts ain't exact but it would be easy to make an adapter plate to bolt up. The srt has a better gear ratio for the added hp and torque from a turbo setup. Not to mention its built stronger.

the 30lb. weight difference is not that bad in fact it puts it right over the wheels as added traction.

I was just saying it mocks up and he could easily be done.

...and you would have to fabricate something for the jack shaft because our engine has no adaptability for the needed mount. And I'm saying this without even looking at the ends and lengths of the axles (or geometry and clearance, for that matter).

Point being "easily" is a relative term. I would consider switching bellhousings to be relatively simple. When you talk about fabricating/welding alignment and support brackets (without even approaching axle/spline differences) on an adaptation that I don't think has even been done yet on our cars, easily changes defintitions.
