i got the side mount off the car and in the house right now and was wondering if it will hurt it if I hose it down and scrub it clean?i know it gets wet when it rains but i didnt know if this would mess it up sorry for the stupid questions

I wouldn't scrub it at all, you'll bend the fins. Use gas to clean the inside out. For the outside use purple power and rinse off, thats what I did and its spotless now.

Just make sure it's empty inside when you put it back on. You can use a toothpick to straighten the fins.

Whatever you do, DO NOT use a high pressure cleaning system. I'd lightly scrub the bug guts off with a medium bristle brush and something similar to Simple Green. Then rinse off with a garden hose and tap water. You can use a small kitchen knife to straighten any bent fins. Put that baby in a warm spot to dry after.

The best method to clean the IC from inside is to Fill up with Diesel, and plug the inlet and outlet.Let it sit overnight and then rinse it off with water.I did that and it worked the best.Thats what my Grandpa used to tell me about cleaning oil and other derbis with Diesel ;)

if you do bend any fins just use 2 tiny flat head screwdrivers, put on on each side of the fin and press together
